I’m wondering if anyone knows what this could be before I book a doctors appointment. I was also going to wait another week to see if it heals up on its own.
I have quite dry and red patches on my foreskin which can be quite itchy some times. I noticed it was itchy before i ever saw the red marks but didn’t really go checking.
Most probably a fungal infection if itching is present.
You may try applying an antifungal cream like Clotrimazole.
Consulting a doctor first is a better option.
James, it is possible you have a skin condition. As Amarjeet is getting at the majority of issues like this are caused by sexual activity and either a yeast / fungal, or bacterial infection causing the problem you have now.
So, it depends on whether you are sexually active? If so do you always use protection or not? Even receiving oral can be sufficient to get something like a bacterial infection.
In terms of skin conditions, do you have skin problems anywhere else on your body?
Fully agree with Amarjeet, you need to book a doctors appointment - with virus restrictions you may only be able to get a phone consultation, if so, you could send the doctor you have posted here.
Alternatively, you could try to get an in-persona appointment at a GU Medicine or Sexual Health Service near you - again, probably best to phone first.
