Early menopause

I have fibroids and my consultant is putting me on monthly injections for three months with a view to putting me in to an early menopause. I am concerned that I will suffer hot flushes   After the three months I am to have surgery on my fibroids. Has anyone any advice as to how to manage. Thank you

Hi Francis...

Apparently your fibroids are causing you problems, because most doctors say dont bother them unless they bother you.

I have quite a few of them that were diagnosed when I was 35. I'm now 59 and only recently have I begun to have problems. Doc thinks the largest one is cause of pain and breakthrough bleeding. My plan was hoping that as my estrogen waned, the fibroid would shrink. My doc says she wants to do procedure to check my lining but she isn't worried by the fibroid as it isn't as large as it once was.

What type of surgery are you scheduled to have done?

Hi thanks for replying. I have to gave the injections which should shrink the largest 5cm for three months then have surgery to shave the fibroid down to the lining of the uterus  I think the bleeding is break through that am having as on provera pills for three weeks to regulate

Ok thanks so much for sharing your info...I appreciate that. I'm sure all will go well, keep us posted. We all need to know about any different options that available to deal with these issues.

Hugs!

Thanks. Today heavy clots back so increased provera to 60g
