Ectopic heart beats

Anyone else suffer from ectopic heartbeats? I get skipped beats every day. It’s like my heart beats really fast then it stops for a few seconds to catch up with itself. Catches my breath and sometimes makes me lightheaded/dizzy. I’ve had many ecgs, echos and 48 hour heart monitors and doctors say my heart is fine. Anyone else get these? Is it anxiety?

Quite simply ...yes . Had them had them again and no doubt will again. When you accept they are harmless they will go away x

Toatally agree with Annie as I also gets them , before it used to scare me a lot and I did panic it’s normal to panic to feel that way as it is so scary when your heart does those tricks ,but had it check and again nothing wrong with my heart.so I just had to accept that now I got it less .we just have to learn to love with this it’s part of our anxiety just like any other illness people have to learn and accept so we do to all best

Thankyou. I think I am starting to except them more until last night when I had them so much I couldn’t sleep. X

Yeah it used to scare me so much, still does sometimes. Thing is I didn’t feel anxious until I started getting these, now it’s like a vicious circle x

When I had lots of them especially at night I used to sit comfortable on the sofa ,trying not to lay down as it use to made them worse .if you lay down use two pillows and try to breath in thu your nose count up to 7 then hold your breath for 2-3 seconds and inhale out for as long as possible it may be like 6-10 seconds  try to relax repeat few times it should calm your breath and regulate heart beats .it did helped me a lot

Thankyou so much! will definitely try this x

Yes I was diagnosed with skipped beats, sinus arrhythmia, & pac's previously. My mom also has mitral valve prolapse so i was little concerned. None of them are life-threatening what so ever. I was given the lowest dose of propanolol by a cardiologist but I haven't been taking it lol.

Once you accept the fact they they are not serious, it will more than likely go away. If the symptoms are too bothersome, ask to be put on medications. I have all your symptoms including chest pain & nausea & im 16 lol.

You'll be okay don't worry

Thank you loads that is reassuring x

Your welcome ❤

You're not alone!! I've always been an anxious person but the ectopica started about a year ago, I've had ECG, EECG, EKG, etc.

Everything looks normal, the cardiologist said they're harmless even though it feels like I'm having a heart attack, I've found some things that help to make them less frequent, exercise every day, I take magnesium, gave up caffeine and try to limit alcohol consumption, breathing excersice and having a good sleep, they're still there but it helps.
