Effects on memory

I've been on Mirtazapine for about 6 months now, like everyone I started on 15mg and it was horrible, walking round like a zombie until mid afternoon. Eventualy my dose was increased to 45mg, I now feel tonnes better, I'm back at work and working at full tilt.

The only thing that's worrying me is that I've noticed my memory getting a bit worse, I've always been a bit absent minded but recently I've realised I can't remember the dates of important events in my past. In particular the death of my partner 7 years ago, I can't remember the exact date. I know I used to be able to recall the date but now I can only remember the month and year.

Has anyone else experienced memory problems?

Hi there, I've been taking Mir for around 3 weeks now (I think!) and although not as severe as forgetting dates, I am very confused a lot of the time and get things and people muddled up. Also my words come out wrong. Its very frustrating! I feel quite slow a lot of the time and have to try to think things through before I say them. Have also put on around 8lbs in weight. I was put on these ones to help with my sleep but after the first week or so, my sleep has gone back to quite poor again so I'm just as tired as I was before, but more down as well. I have one more week trial, then back to GP, and possibly try a 3rd pill - was on fluoextine for 7 weeks before this one!

Hi ,

My partner has been prescribed these and took the first one last night...he has been asleep all day! He seems groggy and I dont know what to do or how i can help!

He's been depressed before...before I knew him and was on prozac (sp?)

I've never been depressed but am feeling the affects of his depression, although I m not showing it to him as I dont want him to feel worse...I go somewhere quiet and have a cry, then come back and Im okay.

Anyone recommend another pill that's worked for them ?

Thank you!

I've noticed my memory is getting a bit better, i seem to remember things from my life i had forgotten for a long time, i haven't noticed any changes in short term memory though
