Knee bend is going well if very sore doing it but leg lifts are a breeze..and I'm back to eating much better

Glad to hear it Lynn, probably did you good to get out xx

Hi martin

im 57 and they said because I done so well having left knee done 15 weeks before I could take getting right one done after seven weeks in Physio I had reached my goal... They said your done bend and straightening was what they wanted I was get in there... All I want now is to get back in my high heels that's my goal I'm a very determined woman and when I have a goal to aim for I go for it

Each pain is a pain less as I say lol

Wow you are marvellous. I am 5 weeks on Thursday. Until Sunday I had great difficulty getting into the car! my bend is average even though I do exercises 3 x a day increasing each day. I walk about half to three quarters of a mile a day again increasing each day. I went to shops yesterday in and straight out, it really shattered me. I to have been very determined each step of this journey, I expected to have op say thank you and then get on with my life, this has not been the case. My leg is still twice the size it should be this does restrict the amount I can bend. I have found it all very difficult I have lost a lot of confidence and do feel very alone. Sorry I am finding everything to much today.. I need to give myself a good talking to."........maybe tomorrow?

Louise, we are not all the same!  Some people get through this quickly but the majority it takes time no matter how determined you are.  Please don't worry and don't feel alone.  I am nearly 18 weeks snd don't have the bend I would like.  My leg swells too.  This is normal, so I am told.  I wish I hadn't had it done!  Just go about things at your own pace and if you need to rest, then do it, we are not superhuman.

Hope not too high . .high heels put an incredible pressure on the knees, and you are quite young. . those new knees have to last you as long as possible!!!  At my age, I;m hoping it will last me until I don't need a knee any longer, but you are still a youngster!

Thanks Susan. The only thing that makes me think that I have done the right thing in having the op. Is I do not have the pain I had before. The aches and pain now are different pain which relates to op. But it is a long hard journey we are on. Xx

razz  Hope you feel better tomorrow!  I had a lot of swelling at first too . . and now at nearly 12 weeks my foot is still swollen . .had to use shoes in the next size up, which I fortunately had lurking in the wardrobe!  Nerve pain still driving me mad. . but I suppose there is a bit of improvement, and that's what we have to hold on to!  Not overdoing it are you? rest is also important. . .
