Either my anxiety is really bad or something is seriously wrong

Following my post last week I thought my anxiety would calm down but it hasn’t everyday I’m having chest pains sweating more on a night have a feeling of complete dread like something bad is going to happen I don’t know what to do I’m convinced there’s something seriously wrong but do I go to my go and make myself out to be stupid or not feel like I’m at rock bottom again

Hi! I am so sorry that you are having such bad anxiety right now. Is there anything that could be a reason as to why it is getting worse? You aren't stupid by the way. So many people suffer from anxiety and I know that when I feel like I have hit rock bottom and nothing can pull me out, then it takes everything in me to be able to get out of bed in the morning. I know this might not offer much comfort, but when I get such bad anxiety I go on super long walks, super early in the morning or right as the sun is setting (nature calms me down). Have you looked into seeing what things calm you down?

I am also religious and I know that pain comes with life, so I lean on God for a lot of help. I don't know if you are religious or spiritual but if you are, then I would take sometime to honest and sincerely pray and meditate on it.

I hope that you are able to get past this spell, and if you are feeling worse then I think it would benefit you to go to the doctors as chest pains are typical of a anxiety attack, but you never want to play around with your heart so just be careful.

Hi Angela, did you mean: should I go to my doctor?

It never hurts to go to the Dr if you aren't feeling right. However, if you do go and they say you are fine/normal and it's just your anxiety - then you need to make sure you accept that and work on fixing your anxiety issues. Don't become one of the anxious people who don't listen to the doctor the first time and keep going over and over lol.

I highly recommend seeing a therapist! I do and it helps a LOT. I used the Psychology Today website to find one in my area, made it really easy.

Anxiety can cause soooo many different physical symptoms, including the ones you described above. I had the chest pain issues from anxiety a year ago, they lasted about 3 months. I had an EKG done and blood work bc I thought something was wrong with my heart, but nope! Just the anxiety -_- lol. It's amazing what your mind can do to your body. But a therapist can help you understand anxiety better and also help you to learn how to cope and get rid of it when it comes around.

I’ve had ecgs done blood tests they all come back normal I’ve been like this for nearly a week now started last Wednesday when I had to go to a cbt therapy session and have another tomorrow

Thankyou I’m going to ring my gp

I don’t know what to do

Are you taking any medication at all can I ask you?

Yes I’m on propranolol 40mg 3 times a day and 150mg of sertraline a day
