Hello all I have been suffering from a gut/bowel problem for some months now with no relief. I was thinking this morning that the sensations I am experiencing are very similar to what I go through every month with my period, and have just seen that that some side effects of Elleste include bloating and gut problems. Has anyone else experienced this, and can I come off the Elleste immediately or do I have to see my doctor first? The gut issues are incredibly uncomfortable, painful and cause diarreah so I'd like to try and stop them as soon as possible.
Hi there,How long have you been on this? I was never on that, but when I started a bio identical progestrone cream then I developed GERD symptoms and it was just awful. I regret ever doing this as even though my symptoms have settled since I weaned off, I still get occasional acid reflux which I never had before being on progestrone. I find my nausea and bowel issues come when my hormones fluctuate…mainly around ovulation. It feels like a few days of morning sickness you feel queasy…I do find since being in my forties everything feels magnified, pain is worse, gut issues are more noticeable. I think if this is a hormone supplement it would be wise to wean off it if you think that is what is causing it, or talk to your doctor.
Hi… the fact is that during menopause you get the exact symptoms anyway , bloat stomach aches and gut aches, the runs that just come out of nowhere , reflux.. i could go on its just part of menopause and even though you are on HRT alot of women still get symptoms just not as bad. I had bloat and serious gut issues for about 6 months… then it slowly improved without any HRT . it does come back from time to time but not as bad .. im still having periods although they are now very irregular and keep stopping for months at a time. So even if stopping the HRT will help in the short term you will have lots of other symptoms coming back and it may even make the gut issues worse for a time as you are messing with your body again when its already struggling.
