So this is a little embarrassing , I have a split in my bum crack that’s been there for ageees now , I’m talking maybe a year or more . I’ve been to 3 different doctors and they all just say to either keep it dry or keep it moist with cream . Anyways I’ve been on and off putting cream on it and it helps but then splits again . It sometimes bleeds lightly and sometimes heavier . Anyways lately it’s just so sore and upon investigating I’ve noticed the skin is completely split open like it’s so wrong it’s fully open with a little itchy lump off to the side of it . Can anyone else help as the doctors aren’t helping at all and I’m worrying
Hey c2, I don't have a split but I have a tiny lump in my bump crack. I tried to cut it but it grows again and it bleeds. Until I got tired. So I just let it sit there for many years now. It does not grow tho and I don't experience any discomfort. I don't worry that much because I am eating healthy and doing healthy lifestyle.
In your case, I don't know exactly what's the rationally for keeping it moist. What I know is that when there is wound, it should be keep dry. Isn't it ironic, to advise keep it dry and keep it moist? To think that it's a split, not something dermatological problem or bacterial thingy. But I think, if you're not putting anything there aside from cream, then I think stop the cream and see what will happen for few months. Also, what are ingredients of that cream? Are you putting too much soap on the area?
It could be a pilonidal cyst. My son had one in that area. You should check into it just to be sure.
