Emotional

morning folks😀

feeling a little emotional today, again I am preparing myself today by eating, drinking (non alcohol) and packing my hospital bag and a bag to stay at my partners house, in readiness of my RTHR tomorrow, I'm due in at 07.30 tomorrow, with the knowledge that I am first on the list due to my surgery being cancelled two weeks ago, whilst I was actually in theatre! My consultant had pulled a few strings as I had to be bumped to the top of the list due to the nature of the cancellation.

But I'm so worried it's going to happen again, I know we are all in fear of operations being cancelled, so fingers crossed it's done tomorrow,

sorry to moan and type endless rubbish 😀

happy Monday to you all, good luck for pre hippies that have their ops this coming week

Hi Linzi,

I'll keep my fingers crossed for smooth sailing for you!

Mine was cancelled at first as well and then the second time around, it got done.

5+ weeks now since then and was just given the all clear for the right side, as well as the confirmation that in the next two months, the other one is up.

Stay positive! Sounds easy enough, I know, but I do believe it helps a little 😉

That must have been such a bummer, well done for getting over it. I'm sure they wouldn't cancel again. Good luck, I'm so petrified to have my inevitable THR that I have not yet booked a date!

Hi Linzh,

I can understand just how you're feeling. My op was cancelled the first time. I'm sure you'll be fine, and by this time tomorrow you'll probably be back on the ward feeling so pleased that it's all over!

I wish you luck and fingers crossed!

Hi Linzi

It is only natural you will be worried that the operation will be postponed, but we are all hoping it won't. Good luck for tomorrow, please let us know how you progress as my husband is having his done hopefully in mid July.

Best wishes from Hazel (Derek's wife)

Hi Linzi,

Best of luck for tomorrow...It will be ok,  waiting for the op  is the worst !

You will be writing here soon telling us how it went.

Big hugs

Ella

Good luck Linzi - when its all over you'll wonder why you were so nervous.

See you on the hip side

Hi linzh

I will keep my fingers crossed for you. I got canceled 6 times for one reason or another. My hip surgeon is also a trauma surgeon so any car crashes or stuff like that all other operations are canceled. In the end I waited almost 4 years so I know how you feel. You are well within your rights to feel emotional and nervous over the issue. I really do hope it happens for you and all goes well.

Hello Linzi,

How dreadful to get so far with nothing to show for it.   It's no wonder NHS staff receive abusive remarks when patients are treated this this - I don't think they realise how much people go through mentally to face an opperation.

All the best for tomorrow - will be thinking of you - first in line!!!

Regards

Paula

Hi Linzi

All the very best with your op

Mine was cancelled first time as well - dreaded the phone ringing prior to second time!

but hey, there is always a reason for everything

Please don't worry - the relief after you come round in recovery is immense

It's a roller coaster ride of emotions - but I think you have reached, like most of us, the point of no return where our ops are a necessity

Try to relax and accept what will be. I was amazed how good I felt after my op and was sitting up having tea and biscuits in recovery. Yes there is some pain but you will have plenty of pain relief and this pain WILL get better

Lots of love and good wishes

Linda xx

Good luck. Hope all goes well!

Thank you xxx
