Hello ladies,
I'm 3 weeks post opp and well I've got to inpatient as to what these feelings and pains I'm having are as I've been feeling like there's a lump coming out ?
I had a look and now feel as if I'm going to be sick, more with worry than anything else.
I could see blue string like bits ? Stitches but they wernt pulled tight like I would have thought, have I done something or has it come louse or is this normal ? Can only just see white ones but can't see what them ones look like, oh god I would advise never to look but any help and advise I could really do with as I'm in a state and my doctors not in for another week :-(
I Ment they wernt pulled tight like I would have thought x
Probably dissolving and working loose now. They will probably start coming out in the bath soon and you'll see them floating!
Arnt stitches Ment to be tight esspecially at 3 weeks ? as these look louse just on near the opening, hard to see anymore :-/
I would think by 3 weeks some of them will be working loose. If Matron comes on tomorrow I'm sure she will reassure you. We all heal differently, some faster than others. Take care, it's my bedtime now. Pollyanna UK
Hi Whitman,
I believe the lump is just swelling where wound and stitching are! It can take quite a few weeks/months for swelling to go down. The stitched area starts to pull together and stitches loosen off around 4-6 weeks. Matron will be able to advise you best. Try not to worry , continue to take things easy and slowly, a little progress at a time.
Phyl xx☺☺☺
I had the same thing, bits of thread coming away, and like you I panicked.
Until I had a proper look at them, and they were bits of the packing, which the nurse had said, when she took it out was very high, and I could feel it unraveling as it took ages to take out.
It was more like bandaging thread, so I stopped panicking!
11 days post op, and still seeing occasional piece, stitching is slow dissolving. please don't worry. Ask Matron.xxx
PS Still feel like I have a football between my legs
.
I can't believe you looked! The blue strings are sutures and so are the white ones because different ones are used. The lump is perfectly normal. I always say never look until everything is healed because it doesn't look normal but once healed everything will be back to normal. Must admit I didn't look but then I suppose I knew what it would look like.
Hi Whitman, I have just had my anterior repair, yesterday in fact.
I think 3weeks is so early to be worrying about your stitches. If anything hun its positive
As your healing well.I'm such a worrier hun,I will not be looking till after my post check up.
Please for me just concentrate on getting better. Don't worry I feel its all normal.lots of lovexxx
Thank you everyone xx
Your right matron I shouldn't have and I can't really see much but I did see a blue and white stitch it's just weird as the blue one looked just like a holding band not a stitch, I won't look again as it's made me feel sick and worry xx
They do look like bands the blue ones. They are the strong ones.
I'm guessing the blue ones are the internal ones matron?xx
We all have them do we? X
