I was hoping to see someone about ear pressure, tinnitus and dizziness/balance issues. What would be the difference between an audiologist or ENT. What would they do if I went to an appointment with one.
Hello! The ENT I went to has an audiologist, allergist, balance therapist all in the same office. Not sure where you are located but maybe call around and see if you can find the same thing!!

The best specialist to see is a Neurotologist. They are a specialized ENT that only deals with inner ear issues. If you choose to see an ENT I would recommend seeking out one that has an interest in the areas of the inner ear. Most ENTs only deal with regular routine ear issues and sinuses.
I agree with the other post. Try to skip a ENT who may have a limited knowledge of the inner ear and see a neurotologist. You will receive better care anyways. I wasted alot of time and money seeing ent's who did nothing but look in my ear and say there's no infection. I knew that already. Didn't need to be charged a weeks pay for that info.
Yes I have went to ENT twice in last couple weeks and still have the problem with my ears. Cost a fortune so go to one that can help you

A neurologist explained it to me me. He said a neurologist is a brain doctor. A neurotologist is a doctor who deals with the brain and the connections to it from the inner ear.
Yes, a Neurotologist only deals with inner ear issues. They may be called a Neurotologist or an Otoneurologist. A Neurologist deals with nerve related issues throughout the body but, doesn't specialize in any one area. Basically, an Neurotologist goes to school to become an ENT but, then has an additional 2 or 3 years of training that focuses solely on the inner ear anatomy.
