Hi, I'm having laser surgery on my right eye next Tuesday. Have been told I have Epiretinal membrane and I opted for laser first to see if it would help, although was told it probably wouldn't, I'm really worried that I may have to have surgery, has anyone else had this and had the surgery, what was it like and am I worrying for nothing...I had cataract surgery in both eyes in 2017
I too was told I have an epiretinal membrane, following a cataract operation. My Consultant told me I may want a vitrectomy at some point.
This page might help you
This is some more info about it
My second post is another link which I think is helpful, from the RNIB
Don’t worry Barbara, you could telephone the RNIB helpline, they are very helpful.
Thanks for your reply mrsmop. Will have a look at them x
Hi Barbara,
Did the laser help with your condition? This is what the doctor also told my dad.
