My boyfriend is 22 years old and for most of his adult life he has suffered with these episodes of sickness. It tends to happen during the evening or early hours of the morning 2-3 times a year. He's explained that he feels a wave of heat and feels heavy with a burning feeling in his stomach. He then will 9 times out of 10 have bad diarrhoea and be in the verge of fainting. He becomes very hot and be asks to have a wet towel to be placed over him to cool him down. He has fainted in the bathroom once at 4 in the morning after feeling an episode come on but afterwards he was fine and went straight back to bed. Following this I asked him to go to the doctors and they have given him multiple blood tests and a ultrasound to check his liver and they are still unable to come to a conclusion. Does anyone know what this may be and how it can be treated?
has he had an abdominal ultrasound and stool test for parasites?
