Escitalopram - prescribed today

Hi all I’m new to this forum and been suffering from anxiety for years now.

Today I decided to see my GP which prescribed 5mg of Escitalopram and to be honest I’m a bit scared of taking them.

Is it best to take it at night or in the morning?

Nicola

I take my AD medications half hour before bed, the medication makes me sleep and can also reduce side effects during the day.

If your GP has prescribed medications, you take them for a complete term. They wil take around five weeks to work well.

Be patient

Hi there 🙂

I am not familiar with this medication but read the leaflet you would have been given and it may indicate it on the box. If it doesn’t say you can find this out by looking online for the leaflet on there.

i am no dr but take comfort in the fact the he/ she has prescribed it to try and help.

i hope you get on well with it

take care

Take at bedtime. This medication may make your anxiety worse. If that happens you will likely return to the doctor who will then give you another medication (benzo) to help you ease into the Escitalopram.

Any doctor that still prescribes benzos to first time users should not be trusted. The lure of huge profits has created an iatrogenic medical system. Do not become one of its victims.
