Hi Michelle yeah pretty much every day now I get head pressure dull pains and forehead pain.....sometimes feels like my eyes are bulging...oh joy....how are yours?
Yes my head has loads of pressure in forehead, and lower down at back of head and pressure in my eyes and nose. What do you take ?
oHi Michelle.
I get these headaches too....a pressure feeling behind my eyes and down the back of my head and neck. Some days it feels like I want to push in on my eyeballs or pull my eyes out in order to relieve the aching pressure. I also get a lot of sinus headaches too. It seems as if the headaches are worse during certain times of my cycle.
My symptoms are:
Extreme pressure at back of head, even hurts to lye on back of head.
Pressure bridge of nose and in forehead. My nose burns like acid in it.
Feel nauseous always.
My face tingles too.
I went to an ENT specialist 2 days ago and had a camera up nose and into throat and no sinus problems seen.
He advised perhaps a neurologist re headaches.
Got it when I get up till when I go to sleep.
What do people take ?
Michelle, it sounds like you are suffering with migraine. There are lots of treatments and forums to support and help. Action Migraine in the UK and Migraine Again in the US which is very useful. I have had migraine for many years. I am using supplements to help. Magnesium, feverfew, vitamin B2 and vitamin D.
Good luck.
Thankyou Barbara
I've had an awful day today. I've been having this for a year now and my doctor hasn't done anything. Today my nostril on one side feels like it is burning and the burning feels like it hits behind my eye. My forehead and back of head is awful. Feelings of sickness comes over me out of a flash.xx
Paracetamol, hot water bottle on my neck and if all else fails Valium lol
Hello Michelle,
Have you tried essential oils ?
I don't have headaches as often as you do but when I do it helps me a lot to take essential oils especially peppermint or lavender essential oil. I put it on my forehead.
I hope I could help you
Michelle I don't get much headaches buy head pressure and feel like a fullness in my eyes when I bend down too
Thankyou I will try some lavender tomorrow night xx
Yes it's a severe pressure xx
HI Michelle. It's really important to work out if you are having migraines, or headaches. headaches are gone when you take a couple of asprin, or paracetamol in a couple of hours. Migraines, on the other hand are not. They are a neurological disorder, and come with a wide range of symptoms, including low blood pressure and restless legs and anxiety! I was a chronic migrainer up until awhile ago when I stumbled across a woman through facebook called Angela Stanton, herself a migrainer and holding a PhD in neuroscience. She is an amazing woman who is helping so many like you and me, to control migraines thru balance of the foods we eat - namely potassium and sodium. I have tried many things and have had these migraines for over 30 years, and this works. Its work and effort of your part, but if you were willing to try anything as I was, it will pay off. It doesn't cost anything. She is not making money, and she has helped over 4000 women now to be migraine free. Migraines generally get worse nearing menopause and are so debilatating. My symptoms were extreme pain, usually on the right hand side from eye to nape across head, nausea, photophobia, and noise issues. They would last 3 days at a time, the worst being pre menstrual. I usually had headaches causes by medication rebound most of the time as well. Now my head is clear!!!! So wonderful, and i am so thankful. Anyone who wants to ask about the Stanton Protocol, fee free to ask me, or look her up on facebook.
I have commented below - but careful around taking meds, as you end up with rebound headaches. Do not take anything with Opiates in it, as this leads to chronic pain issues. Advil and the like will cause more headaches and migraines. Triptans can be useful, and you could try these, as they will not help headaches, but are designed for migraines. They are wonderful drugs in moderation, but again, too many of them will cause issues. I know how you feel. You poor thing, migraines are just awful things and no one understands unless they have had one. Go gently. xx
Hi Tracy
Thanks for your advice. When I take paracetamol it is still there. It is like a pressure at temples, forehead and back of head. Even hurts to lye on a pillow . I have low blood pressure and tinnitus as well. Also restless legs and body at night. What is this stanton protocol? I am very interested. I am not taking any medication at the moment.xx
Hi Tracy, I have chronic migraine caused by medication overuse and stuck in a cycle of pain. I am trying a migraine diet but early days. I am very interested in your comment about the Stanton Protocol. Please could you tell me more. How long have you been following and with what kind of success? Thank you Barbara.
If you are on facebook just search for Migraine sufferers who want to be cured. That should take you to it. I have been on it for 6 weeks now. I have had one migraine in that time, which i was able to stop from turning into a 3 day long nightmare. It may not sound long to people, but I had headaches or migraines every day. For 30 years. So this is a miracle. But I am not the only one. There are lots of women on there who are pain free now. It's so encouraging and it's like an answer to prayer! A pain free head!! Go ahead and check it out. If you not on facebook, I can find another way to help you. She has written a book on it. Just message me again if you can't find it.
See my response to Barbara below. Are you on facebook? If so, 'search' for Migraine sufferers who want to be cured. It does sound like you have migraines. paracetamol is useless. Won't touch it. Given you are not on any meds, your recovery will be faster. Be encouraged. There is help there! AND it's a drug free approach that works!!
Hi Barbara
It seems to be a closed group. Is there an email?x
Hii I have been getting migraines for about two years now.I had no idea that they we're part of the perimenopause/menopause symptoms until some other symptoms came except for hot flushes. The only thing that I do,is just take advil when the start of the migraine comes on.By catching it early, then the pain stops otherwise I will have to ride it out.I don't want to take meds. Also if I don't eat candy that helps.
