I have been on these for two months and although it says may experience spotting this is a full blown period with stomach pains. Not seen one in two years thought that was the last! Is this the norm does anyone know.
I think you periods if you haven't had a hysterectomy I would just check with the doctor
Hi Birdie - hrt has caused heavy bleeding for me with 3 various types - all good now on 3rd month bleeding has gone - perhaps caused by the initial burst of hormones being reintroduced into our bodies - makes notes every day of what is happening with your cycle body etc to report to your doc all the best, Loui x
yes with Evorel this is common. I changed my dose from half a patch to a full patch a few months ago, (long story) then I cut a third off it and since April I have had spotting on and off around the time of a monthly period. Sometimes its just brown and sometimes a small show of blood... with the period pains too. So I sympathise with you, its the hormones doing their 'thing'.. takes quite a while for them to stabalise as they work very slowly.. hope this helps
Thank you very much. I did read that if it continues I may have to stop as the lining of the womb thickens. It's never ending for us women! I will give it a little while longer to see if it sorts itself out. Thanks again for your help.

I'm not familiar with what your on as I take Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy as vaginal suppository. Im in USA. Had hormones tested via saliva. Then suppositories made as what I'm low on. Everything ok until 3-4 month. Bam. Full blown period! Cramps everything! I freaked out. Thought..uterine cancer ...so had to go thru ALL testing all normal so Estrogen was dropped in the suppositories. Bleeding gone. It's been almost 2 yrs since had hormones checked so fixin to do it again.
My periods have been normal but just before starting BHRT i had a heavy period that lasted 15 days! Ended up having to have iron infusion. Just at end of 15 days i started BHRT. 2 weeks later i had another period and 2 weeks after another. Plus i had spotting in between. I told doc and he upped the dose of progest. I take 1/4 troche in morning and 1/2 at night on day 13 of my cycle until my period. Rest of time 1/4 troche. Only just started this so dont know if my periods are normal yet?
Im assuming you are premenapausal (having had no periods?). I think i am premen. More progest helps to stop periods. My gp told me that.
