Hello. I'm now 8 weeks post op from Rectocele repair and doing ok. I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be ok for me to get back on the cross trainer now? Xxx
I've had same op and I am 15 weeks post op. I really wouldn't risk your repair, you are not allowed to push a Hoover until at least 12 weeks so I wouldn't even think about any sort of resistance training yet it's too early.
I and a few people on here swim and walk, which is fine to do as its low impact, no jogging, jumping etc
Sorry to say all this but you need to heal properly and not put yourself under any risk as nobody would want you to go through this again.
Very best wishes Mik xx
Thankyou so much for your advice I definitely won't be attempting it. I've been feeling really good had a busy week last week and feeling it today 😔 not feeling good about myself atm so wanted to back to it but another couple of weeks isn't going to hurt. Thankyou for replying xx
Omg do not start that sort of excersize, I was with my surgeon Tuesday and have only been doing three walks round the block and she told me to stop one of them and slow down
i had A&P 9 weeks ago
take care of yourself and all the good work the surgeon has done for you
Hi I had A&P 10 wks ago and was told it's ok to swim, cycle on flat and things like pirates or yoga as all low impact. Haven't tried any yet as still don't t feel ready but everyone heals suffer welt but I'd imagine resistance things are a no. X
Just had a telling off from my husband he's not allowing it lol. I just feel so rubbish about myself 😔 xxx
It does get you down not being able to do things. It's funny but when fit and well we probably crave a chance to sit and do nothing and now we have it we complain. Haha. X
Take it easy chic, the operation makes you emotinoly and I don't think anything can prepare you for this xx
When I had my operation I wasn't given a lot of information regarding recovery, I have had most of it from this site. Your right I normally crave for some relax time now all I want to do is things I shouldn't be lol. I've never felt this useless and never expected to feel like this. I'm sorry for the tmi but my husband and I have tried intercourse twice now and I just can't do it it's ok at first then hurts I have to stop. I'm sorry to vent this is a first for me but it's just getting abit too much now. Sorry lovelies to put a downer on your Sunday's xxxx
Have you had your post-op check yet? That's a good time to find out how well you've healed and what you are allowed to start doing.
We still haven't tried but I was advised against it for another couple of weeks but I'd had total hysterectomy, A&P repair and a tvt (bladder sling) so I have quite a bit of healing to do. I get very emotional. My daughter says to me 'is it your hormones again mam' and gives me a hug. Haha. Take it easy. It'll be worth it in the end and don't stress over the sex thing. A lot of woman have said same thing. Lots of lube and slowly does it is what I've heard on here. X
No not had post op check yet still waiting for my appointment x
I feel your frustration, Mrsg85. The gym was a big part of my life until I had my cystocele op last summer - after my post op check I got back into swimming ( gym kindly swapped my membership! )!then a few months ago I started doing stationary and real bike, some stationary rower, sitting on a Swiss ball and doing some light arm weights. My daughter is a gym instructor so I have lots of helpful input.
i am now in recovery from a rectocele, enterocele and perineum reinforcement and being very careful at just under 8 weeks.i I am doing gentle walks, being busy around the house but not lifting, doing some light hand weights when lying or sitting and will start swimming when we go to our friends house with a lovely clean pool next week.
i miss proper excercise and am not at all happy with the weight that has crept on, but am now addressing that. My family are very aware if I seem to be doing too much as no one wants to see me go through this again and all are invested in a proper recovery.
FI, I can't understand why some consultants say ok to use bike when you can't even Hoover? Surely if you can't hoover then a bike must be heavier, I don't think I could sit on a bike even at my stage in recovery.
Take good care of yourself. Mik xx
Hi, I had sex the same day as I was examined a step to far I think, we had full penateation but we will waight a bit till the next time I felt like the left wasn't healed enough, get som lub I believe it will help.
i couldn't relax xx
I'm the same, I do a bit more then get emotional all as I tire. I can't keep up with my 80 year old mum. I'm trying to keep my sense of humour bit so.eyimes crying seems to be my only option. However it's still better than before the op when I was going down hill every day. Chin up and try to stay positive.
Claire what op did you have
I had an anterior and posterior repair and Kelly suture 6 weeks ago.
hiya mrsg85 i didnt have a great deal of info ref recovery (A&P and a hoist up of the womb cant remember the correct term atm). I got a lot from this forum. Wasn't offered a post of check had to fight to get one which I had at 17 weeks last monday. I can't have sex as too tight and hurts too much they said I could have further surgery to loosen... I just can't face that. I was starting to getting back to feeling a bit normal. I've opted for dialators to stretch got to give it 3 months. It's difficult but there are lots of success stories on here and I'm trying to remain positive. Take it easy and listen to your body. xx
I think my issues may have been picked up sooner if I had my post op check before 17 week point.... I did try and chase this up a few times, unsucessfully. I hope you get yours sooner than me x
