Excruiciating pain

I don't know how I'm typing this but I'm in so much pain i need some comfort and answers.

I've taken 2 co codomol and it's not touched this pain ...

Half an hour ago I ate some creamy biscuits and two small chocolates.

Within 15 mins this pain that I have only had three times before hit me. I don't know how to describe it but I will try.

It starts as a stabbing pain in centre of my stomach then turns to a cramping pain that comes in 5 min intervals or if I swallow hard and or move.

It the feels like it's going into my back and up through my right sided shoulder at the back and shoots a pain into my neck and ear on the right side of my body.

The pain feels almost like a contraction it comes in waves and comes also when I swallow.

It makes me sweat until it passes or until the next wave of pain. I'm suffering now so I don't know when it will ease off.

I've had a gall bladder HIDA scan done which showed an ejection rate of 53% before a fatty meal and 83% after. That could've the other way around. If so isn't 53% a bit crappy ?

Does this still sound like gall bladder issues or just plain Indigestion ? I don't know why I'm calling it plain, it's far from plain it's a pain I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Oh you poor darling.  That's awful.  I suggest no more chocolates or sweet-type things for the time being.  Go on a very bland diet and I mean bland.  I was limited to something like tuna mixed in with plain boiled rice with a little salt and lemon juice in it!  Just take it steady and don't overload your system.  Make appointment with your GP at the earliest opportunity and, if they say oh just wait and see..... then say you won't leave the surgery without a referral...... I do hope you get some pain relief tonight so you can sleep.  Do take the dietary stuff very easy for a while. xx

I'm  no Dr but I have only just had my gallbladder removed (last week), had the same symptoms. Have you got gallstones? You haven't said.

If you have gallstones then what has your Dr proposed?

It sounds like gallstones I had exactly the same pain I had my gallbladder removed 12 weeks ago and had. around 16 gallstones inside I lived for the 6 months before removal on as low fat diet as I could cut down on dairy any fried food or processed food it helped I didn't have a pain alot of vegetarian food is very low in fat ask your doctor for stronger pain killers the paramedics told me the doctor will give u some thing stronger if you ask I ended up with 400mg ibuprofen 1 every two hours and 2 hours later a paracetamol and if the pain got really bad a codeine I hope you get this sorted push for them to help just keep attending the hospital when the pain gets bad the doctor in emergency told me to keep going as then the surgeons will piano on to help if you need to talk just contact me I and many others on here are here for you.

Chocolate does that with me, don't touch it.

and especially dont eat licorice, absolutely agonising pain after I did that, but strangely I've seen other health forums that say its good for gallstones, although as I have had mine removed maybe that makes a difference

I have had a HIDA scan which is supposed to check for gallstones and problems with the gall bladder. It came back with 53% I THINK. Before eating something fatty and 83% after or maybe the other way around.

Is that ok ? Doctor seems to think so.

The pain has subsided today because I'm scared to eat anything.

But it's after fatty foods and feels like my body is trying to contract and expel something.

I'm due to see my Gastro doctor end of January

Kim I'm sure you would be ok with things like boiled potatoes and cold meat or chicken and salad.

I'm not a fan of alternative medicenes but i have been reading about apple cider vinegar so i bought some as it's supposed to neutralise the cholesterol which causes stones. I'm not even sure I have gall stones but im gonna treat it like i do and see if this helps at all.

When I had gallstones and the pain was bad I used to drink apple cider vinegar tastes disgusting but it takes the edge off unless the pain is major then it didn't help at all

Kim you need to leave out the dairy and chocolate.  Eat a low fat diet. Skim milk will be o.k. If you need a list of foods let me know.  My surgeon wanted me to be on a low fat diet two months after I had my operation Nov. 11. I have lost 20 pounds on the diet which I am very happy about.

I don't know why you are having problems swallowing, I would check with your doctor.  I know the pain is really horrible, try to hang in there and talk to your doctor. I haven't seen anyone else on hear that had swallowing issues after gall bladder removal.

I have had the gall stone pain which i know is hell and two virual bugs that was so bad I cried most of the day. Pain like these are hell to deal with. If you have any questions that something isn't right call your doctor.  It doesn't sound like bile reflux. It could be an infection.  I hope your doctor can give you some answers real soon.  Hang in there!
