Hello everyone, I was wondering in any of yall had any input on this. This is sort of a 2 question thing, but hopefully someone can help or give some advice.
So I've been trying to get back into exercising again to help with my anxiety. Before my anxiety, I would hit the gym 4-5 days a week. You could say the gym was my home away from home. Right now, I've been trying to take things really slow and only going for short periods of time. The thing is, I keep getting the sensation that I'm not getting enough air when I exercise. I also get light headed and feel as if I'm not me. I should also note that I'm only doing cardio machines such as stationary bike, eliptical, treadmill. Like i said, I'm only going at slow paces right now and trying to stay for at least 20-30 minutes before I leave. The thing is, I still get these sensations and they seem to make my anxiety worse when I'm done. My qeustions to you guys is, did this happen when you tried to get back into exercising? Also, if any of you guys have advice on what I could do or try to do.
My next question is about medication and if you guys found it helpfull.I understand that everyone is different, but I was just wondering if putting in the time to find the right drug would be helpfull. My Therapist that I'm going to right now recomended that I go on antidepressants. I'm just worried because of the scary side effects people get when they go on them. Currently, I'm on 2.5 mg or Valium that I take about 2 times a week. I've been on this for about 2 monthes now and I try and take as little as possible because of the dependancy issues I've heard with drugs like that. And honestly, the 2.5 mg doesn't even feel like it does anything. I was going to make an appointment with my psychiatrist to see what he thinks, but I thought I would ask you guys based on your own experiences.
Anyways, thank you to anyone who took the time to read this.
