I keep reading that exercise is good for exercise. I'm afraid for me it isn't. Where is all the endorphins at?? Woke up and done 5k on the bike and I feel terrible. Got a massive chest pain whilst doing it. My life is officially over. There is no way past this. If there is nothing wrong with my heart then it doesn't seem I'll ever be able to except that becauee I'm laying here now worried about the heart. So if I don't die, looks like I'll end up being a 40 stone jobless loser all because of anxiety. Laying on my bed now I have pain in throat, no endorphins. Tinny taste in mouth. I give up. There are a number of possible reasons why this happens other than heart but I can't accept that. Haven't worked out in over a year so this is a big jump for me so my body may be reacting to it. Muscles and stuff. I wish. I hadn't eaten before I went so my anxiety is normally high when I am hungry. Anyone else petrified of exercise and increased HR - takes me back to my first ever panic attack when I was rushed to hospital. I can't get that out of my mind
Hello Les ,
sorry to hear about your symptoms, you are not alone like us there are million and billion people who is suffering from it most of the people didnot know about this site thats why we don,t have any information about them------if there is any thing happened in left side chest we think we have heart problem------
May i know what kind of tests you have done till now i am our weight and trying to loose weight but it look imossible after trying hard i m the same-------------
i will give you a simple solution to kick out anxiety from your life-------go to cardiologist do an Ct scan of heart or Mri it will clear your mind regarding with your heart-------i am sure there will be nothing but our mind ever time focusing on heart that may be there is some thing wrong----------even its just our thinking and imagination and fear that will trigger our anxiety and we feel the pain---------
simple solution i tell you that go to cardiologist and request for Mri or contrast Ct scan it will make it clear--------if you do it already then try to take some anxiety tablet like LExapro + propnolol =======

Have you ever been checked out by your doctor? Did you have test done? I'm asking this because if you did and everything was normal, then everything is anxiety related.
if you haven't worked out in over a year then you need to ease back into exercise instead of doing it all at once. I know how it feels when I have anxiety and I exercise. It feels horrible. So I started to gradually work up with exercise . If your doctor told you your heart is fine then you can exercise because any symptoms related to anxiety cannot hurt you. I started getting my anxiety symptoms in my 20s and I am now in my 50s and I'm still alive! I exercise regularly and have a way better control over anxiety than I did in the past.
Your life is not over! You just need to learn how to manage the anxiety and symptoms. Just don't overdo the exercise for now. Your body isn't used to it.
when we are anxious, the brain sends out the hormone adrenaline. That is what causes the rapid heart rate. That cannot hurt your heart.
also, when we get anxious about symptoms, more adrenaline is sent out which causes more symptoms. So the key is to not get overly anxious about all of this. You need to relax your brain as much as possible because that's were all anxiety begins.
your brain is over anxious and that's why you're getting all the symptoms. Like I said I got all my symptoms in my 20s all at once and I thought I had a terrible disease.
I had your same symptoms and more than that also. All my tests were normal. I asked the doctor "how can my test be normal when I feel all these horrible symptoms?"
he told me to go take a vacation to relax. LOL. There's not much doctors can do for anxiety symptoms other than prescribe medications to relax. So the rest is up to us. So I decided I have to take matters into my own hands .
first I got some counseling which helpedme get to the bottom of why I have anxiety in the first place. It really helps to vent to somebody in person who can help.
then I started listening to audio meditations on YouTube regularly for stress and anxiety. They completely relax my mind and body and my symptoms would greatly diminish or go away. There are many to choose from . I laid down and use earbuds for a better effect. They also have them for depression, sleeping, self-love, and on and on. I think they could really help you!
do an experiment. Listen to these several days and see if your mind and body calm down. Then you know it's all anxiety related.
here are some I suggest:
to start with listen to one called mindful meditation for relaxation by Glenn
then an important one is called 10 minute breathing meditation. It's important to know the proper breathing technique for anxiety and why .
I stopped taking life too seriously and treated myself better because this is not our fault.
started eating healthier and stay away from refined sugars and caffeine which can make you more anxious.
I got more active, socialize more, and do things to relax my mind so just take walks in nature, do things for other people which keeps your mind busy. The worst thing you can do is sit around and think about anxiety because like I said, your brain will send out more adrenaline.
Anxiety leads to negative thinking which leads to fear and then you get symptoms. We don't have to let anxiety and symptoms control us!
if I can do this, anybody can because I was the most negative person and always thought worst case scenario.
However, after reading a book called mindfulness, it gave me a new perspective in a new way of thinking, and how to deal with stress and anxiety with a much better outcome. The book has a white cover with a ball of tangled string on the front.
I rarely get symptoms anymore because of all this and even if I get something I basically ignored because I know it can't hurt me and if I pay attention to it it would just get worse. The mind is a powerful thing! You can choose to be in charge or you can let anxiety be in charge. Never give up! You have a long life ahead of you so you have to be a fighter for yourself! You can do this.
so,
if you can, speak with a counselor because it would be worth it
listen to the meditation's often. And listen carefully to what they say.
stay active, be social, eat healthy , help others
don't forget to smile and laugh even when you don't feel like it. It's been proven that all of these things make positive changes in the brain
I had all tests done in January. Stress, ecg, cardiogram. Everything perfect. Said I have less than the average chance of an arythmia. But the pains persisted so I went a&e other night and all was fine still including bloods and ecg. But the pain is still just as bad. I know I should of eased myself into exercise but now I'm worried I've overdone it and damaged my heart I've also picked up an annoying habit of pulling my nipple all day on left side which is causing pain I think. I also tense up a lot on left side. I don't know how people get through this. I've had it a year and I am struggling badly!! All day I have symptoms of heart attacks left arm and chest pain so I find it impossible to ever forget about it and relax. The doctors won't give me no more benzo's I'm honestly just at a loss now I don't know what to do.
Hi Les you have anxiety symptoms which in your mind are cardiac related. You are fixated on these symptoms and your mind is thinking of heart attack and ànxiety is increased. You need to go to your doctor and get therapy.Benzos are not the way to go unless used sparingly and only in an emergency.Exercise is good so start of slowly and build it up.You have to retrain your thinking so you don't associate a fast heart rate with a panic attack.Practice relaxation techniques and don't give up you can get through this.
What has happened is fear and negative thinkinghas taken you over.
you are thinking worst-case scenario and when that happens Anxiety increases and your brain sends out more adrenaline which increases symptoms and anxiety.
YOU CAN BREAK THE CYCLE!
all your test came out normal! Your heart is fine!
anxiety cannot hurt your heart. Any symptoms related to anxiety cannot hurt you.
If you damaged your heart, the ECG would have shown that!
you have to learn how to separate negative thoughts from yourself. Negative "what if" thinking is a waste of time and based on non-reality and in fact.
I wasted 20 years of my life with that type of thinking and now those days I cannot get back. Don't do this to yourself.
PLEASE listen to a meditation called detachment from overthinking. On YouTube. Laydown, put in your earbuds, take a slow deep breath and listen.
A year with this is long enough now you have to take action.
I decided for myself that I am the only one that can help myself so I started looking for resources. I spoke with a counselor who really helped. I found the meditations on YouTube, I basically ignored my symptoms because I knew they were from anxiety. The more attention you give to them, the worst they get.
you're getting symptoms all day long because you are over worrying about it all and causing your brain to be over anxious and when that happens you will definitely get symptoms!
you need to relax your mind in order to reduce or get rid of symptoms.
millions of people have your exact symptoms from stress and anxiety.
anxiety symptoms cannot hurt you or your heart or anything else.
i'm sorry you're feeling so frightened. I was the same way until I took charge of it. You can do this. Talk to a counselor because sometimes this is hard to deal with alone. It really helps to vent to somebody else who can help you.
don't be too hard on yourself, this is not your fault
You have to make a decision. Either you're going to fight for yourself and use the resources to feel better or you're going to let fear take you over and not feel well all the time.
remember,
-there is counseling by a professional who specializes in anxiety
-meditations for anxiety and stress and sleep on YouTube
-A book called mindfulness that teaches you all you need to know about anxiety management and obtaining peace of mind
We are here for you when you need support.
