hi folks I just found myself a new exercise for knee bend while sitting on the bed
I got a plastic carrier bag put my foot in it held the handles and just moved my leg up and down to help the bend
holding the handles helps you bend just that little bit extra
improvisation at its best ...lol
So much for all the expensive gym equipment!
My physio had me doing a similar exercise whilst still in hospital. Roll up a small towel, place it behind the knee and gently pull it towards you.
Was willing to try anything to increase that blessed bend!
Very ingenious of you anyway, Jean!

Thanks Lynn
cheap and cheerful exercise
Brilliant idea, I have one of those leg lifters, and they do the same job, I am sure I can credit it with my good progress! How is your sleeping on your side going. I remember like me you could sleep on your side with the operated leg on the matress but not the other side. I had two agonising attempts at sleeping on my left side, and it took ages to get back over, but this past week it has become easier and almost comfortable, so I must be improving!
Hi liz
like you my sleeping has got much better this past week ...if I do wake up its with this sciatica that I can't seem to shake off
but sleeping on both sides is great now and no pillow to rest the knee on.
its been a long hard ordeal but .... I've definitely turned a corner
no meds last night ...Yippee
Jean
Try laying on the floor for a while each day Jean. It cured my sciatica.
Warning, if you are laying on the floor, make sure you are near something to pull yourself up. when I fell down the stairs, I had to drag myself over to the banister, as I could not get up (whale floundering on the beach springs to mind)!!!
