Ok, I am at the end of my rope here. If this stupid pain goes on any longer, I will lose my mind. 1. Abdominal pain, lower left below the ribs(not underneath the ribs). 2. Duration- 1 month, sometimes worse sometimes better 3. Type: mostly gnawing type of pain with heaviness, initially it felt like a burning sensation, like the kind you get when a fire ant bites you, but it was internal. That pain is gone, now it's just a dull excruciating "heavy" ache 4. Not tender to the touch 5. Hurts equally if my stomach is completely empty or full. 6. Affected by position. If I'm lying down, I'm mostly fine. If I sit up, it's a worse, and if I'm standing it's at maximum intensity. 7. Carrying anything is a herculean task. I picked up my exercise mat yesterday to wash it and lifted my right arm, and the heaviness on the left side of my stomach got unbearable. But 10 minutes later I was able to do 40 sit ups in sets of 10 without any issues. 8. Coca-cola makes it somehow better. Burping makes it better but not completely gone. 9. I had an ultrasound done of the abdomen. The spleen, liver, etc are all fine. There are no gallstones. 10. Gastroenterologist said it's acid reflux, but then why does drinking cola make it better? 11. I do have a grade A hernia, but I've had it for like 10 years and this pain is new. 12. I did take motherwort for about a year on and off for anxiety, I read that can cause stomach pain but I have stopped taking it for a month now. It was in tincture format(alcohol), I would take a few drops during the day. Personal hypothesis: ulcer(despite the cola), vagus nerve damage, gastritis, or some type of physical contact between nerves.
