Is the exosym brace good for someone trying to bear weight from an ankle injury?
My understanding is that it is a final fall back situation when nothing conventional can be done to give you back your mobility on your ankle joint. It is also very expensive around £9K and requires going to the US for about a week for fitting and training.
Have you been to their web site yet.
Cheers Richard
I'm going in August for these for both feet. I'm under the impression that you don't use your ankles to walk but your hips & ab muscles it totally takes the weight off your foot & ankles That's the only way they could ever work for me. people that haven't walked in years are now walking & even running marathons
I just returned from Gig Harbor last week after receiving my device. It is a last ditch effort before amputating. It is a mix between an orthotic and prosthetic. The weight bearing is redistributed thru a strut to just below the knee. For me it has been a life changer
How does it take the pressure off your feet & ankles? Right now, my right foot can't handle any pressure. Constant pain. I'm not sure if I should do more surgery, ankle replacement or the EXOSYM. I've even considered amputation but my problem is in both feet so I can't do that. Can you tell me how it has changed your life, Do you have any pain at all in it & can you walk with no pain?
Dear Barb as I suggested previously do go to to their web site where you should find answers to your questions. Good luck. Richard
Oops apologies. I thought that I was, replying to the OP.
Cheers, Richard
Actually I've already been approved for them & will be going in August (unless I decide to get more surgery). I'm so glad they're working out for you. Everyone says the same thing, it's been a life changer for them.
