HI I has cataract surgery 3 months ago but now need YAG procedure followed with laser to correct the following
wrinkled lens
light streak when looking at direct source of light
slight haziness in certain light source
flickering of light when light source at the edge of eye in a dim room
unfortunately, i have not attained 20/20 vision so will require laser surgery afterwards
My question is that since day 1 i have felt that the affected eye feels bulky and visibly i can see the eye lid looks slightly swollen- could any of the above be due to the lens not sitting properly in the eye?
I have to make some tough decisions in the coming weeks so ant experience you can share would be gratefully received.
Due to coronavirus, i have a few extra weeks to think about the pros and cons of what i am facing with..
First off my understanding about YAG is that is is only done if one has pco (Posterior capsular opacification (PCO) occurs when a cloudy layer of scar tissue forms behind your lens implant).
I know due to COVID19 it is next to impossible to see anyone but before having a YAG I would seek out another specialist for 2nd opinion. Once a YAG is done very difficult to get a lens exchange should you later discover the lens is faulty or not centered. You could also have some healing left if your eye is swollen or there is infection or reaction to drops if you are still using those after 3 months. Please see another specialist to take s look to see if there isn’t something else going on with the lens or your eye.
I have no experience as I have not had my cataract surgery yet. But, I have saved a link on the risks of YAG surgery. If you search for the title and author below you should find it. The first doctor quoted in the article, Christopher Rudnisky, MD, is the one scheduled to do my surgery, whenever that may be, with this COVID-19 thing going on.

I believe YAG is mainly used to address PCO, and you may want to be cautious about having it done for other purposes such as positive dysphotopsias, which it sounds like you may be suffering from. See the section in the article about “To YAG or Not To YAG”.
