reading to many things on the internet need clarification. I had protected oral sex with a stripper. I told her to stop performing oral sex and removed the condom and put on another condom to have vaginal intercourse. I did not finish inside of her i pulled out (condom still on) and ejaculated. after i was done i took both condoms went to the bathroom and filled them up with water to check the integrity to see if there were any rips or holes in them(water would leak out or squirt out). There wasn’t any water coming out of the condoms. i realized after that the condoms were 1 year expired. i dont know if that puts me at a bigger risk of contracting a std/sti? i understand that expired condoms are more likely to rip but the condom didnt rip or break. is it safe to say that the expired condom did its job and since it didnt rip the chances of contracting an std/sti are the same as a non expired condom? also i never touched her vagina during the process. the only thing is that she was sucking my testicles when she performed oral sex which i told her to stop. do i need to worry about having sex with an expired condom if it didnt rip? is it pretty safe to not worry that she sucked on my testicles for a short period of time
Since the condom didnt have any tears or rips, id say in that sense youre okay.
however, its important to remember condoms do not prevent the transmission of HSV as effectively as youd think.
Since it’s transmitted via skin contact, and not fluids, theres still a significant area at the base of the penis and testicles that are left exposed.
That being said, did you know your herpes status before?
Many people assume they do when they ask to be tested for everything, however HSV is not included. It has to be specifically asked for (an IGG and IGM type blood test).
The chances that you got it are reduced with the condom, but are still there.
If you develop symptoms, get swabbed immediately, and in 4 months go and request an IGG type blood test (you could do so now, but the IGG is only accurate about 3/4 months after exposure, to test now, with a positive would mean you already had it, as many people do without knowing).
