Hello everyone. I need some input. I was a very avid runner for years. Last August I had a repair done to a torn medial meniscus and a ruptured bakers cyst. The Dr did not remove the ruptured cyst. The back of my knee is so very painful all the time. I don't know what to do. I can barely walk, let alone start running again. I almost fall when I attempt to stand after sitting for s period of time. Has anyone got any thoughts that they could share with me?
See a different doc...in your case, a sports orthopedic surgeon from a group that works with your local pro and/or college teams.
Sorry can't offer you a solution, just sympathy - as I had a Baker's cyst prior to having my knee replaced. It went away after surgery but I was warned they can return. It used to rupture and was extremely painful to walk about and knee would not go straight.
As yours is limiting your lifestyle, definitely go see a specialist as Chico mentioned. Best of luck for a solution.
Get to a sports medicine surgeon and get an MRI for updated data. Then you'll have to go from there. I wouldn't put a lot of activity or load on it till you get some answers and I think you'll need the MRI for that.
I hate it when Drs just squeeze, twist and diagnose
