I have been suffering from what feels like extreme thirst for 8 months. Also have an awful taste that goes from tasting like metal to tasting salty to tasting like rot...I am so fed up with this as it is now so bad I cannot sleep as keep having panic attacks as I feel like I can’t quench my thirst. All bloods fine. Also have loads of other peri symptoms but this one is driving me insane. Some days J can’t stop crying as I feel like I am goibg to die of dehyration. Doctors look at me like I am a total nut job.
Been on HRT 2 months and defo intensifies on progesterone stage of tablets. I am 46.
Can anyone suggest anything?
Same to me my taste buds have changed and I smell thing that are not there now I've got ulcers from excessive gas in my stomach and add anxiety in the mix I'm tired of this
Hi Lisa, I had the extreme thirst thing but only had it about 4 times thank God not had it since but it was horrible so I totally understand what u mean, my worse symtom is the anxiety and depression but hopefully meds are kicking in very slowly xx

I had that too about a year ago. It was the symptom that broke the camels back and made me start HRT although I had previously decided against it. It was horrible. That metal taste, the thirst and dry mouth. Argh! Why, why, why?!
Anyway, bioidentical HRT took it away and except for a few minor bodily symptoms, the only thing I’m left with is the health anxiety and general worrying.
