all I want to do is sleep and when I am awake I have brain fog 7 years on this medicine does anyone else feel like this all the time.
I have experienced this side effect before. The doctor suggested that I take the medicine at night, to help with the tiredness. After years of being on 30 mg, the doctor reduced my dose to 25 mg and it has helped alot with that tiredness. Coming down 5 mg, did cause alot of other side effects for the first two months. But now, I am back to normal.
I have been taking Citalopram for 11 years. I am on 20mg currently but was on 30mg in the early years. In this time both my father and husband died. I feel Citalopram has worked very well for me. But I do have spells of daytime sleepiness, yawning and intermittent brain fog. I find they are worst when I have extra stress, eg an event taking me out of my comfort zone, family worries even preparing to go on holiday. I think michelle0711's suggestion of taking the dose at night is a good one and I am going to try that myself. Let's see how we get on!
thank you for your replies I'm glad I'm not alone I've tried taking it on a night but wake up with a headache. I wonder if coming down from 40 to 20 has made me like this
