What is safe to use to remove mascara and eye lid pencil after cateract surgery ? My surgery 2 weeks ago?
Every surgeon's recommendations are different. Mine said no make-up till eye drops are finished (which for me is at 3 weeks). Was also recommended to throw out my eye make-up : mascara and eyeliner and eye shadow and buy new product. Your eyes at 3 weeks are 50% healed.
It is up to you. When I googled for answers to this found wait time to be 1 or 2 weeks.
I would say go cautiously and don't rub or put any pressure on eyelid and avoid getting any remover product in your eye. Maybe wash gently after with just face cloth and water.
Janice - I should add use a gentle remover - sensitive skin one. In fact I have even used olive oil to do the job before. The more natural the product the better.
After cataract surgery, are there some limitations in the shower as well? Like when washing your hair with shampoo and face?
Avoid getting the eyes wet? Maybe use a pair of swim goggles to keep the eyes protected?
Yes limitations to that as well. Although you can shower you can't get even water in your eyes. I played it real safe and went to hairdresser to have them wash my hair. I have long thick hair and did not see that I could wash it without getting water and soap in my eyes.
LOL like your idea of swim goggles - although they are tiny and might have hurt the eye. Do have snorkel mask - never thought of it but that may have done the trick.
Got a cruise coming up in January. Been trying to google for info how long before you can do that. Just might post here to see if anyone knows. Can't wait to snorkel. As I have always worn glasses for distance could never really see well. Used to enjoy watching footage on GoPro afterwards. Now Inshould be able to see Coral and turtles a whole new way. Thinking by January everything should be well healed.
