Hey, i was diagnosed with genital HSV1 a couple of months ago. I have only had one sexual partner before, i had my first outbreak after a couple of months sleeping with him. He recently decided to get a blood test just to confirm he also had HSV1 as he only knew he would have it from me having it as hes my only sexual partner. The results came back negative, i was just wondering if its possibly a false negative if anyone else has experienced this before? Could i have gotten the virus any other way? Thanks
were you diagnosed with a swab?
hsv can be transmitted via skin to skin and oral so even if it wasnt actually intercourse with someone else they could have still given it too you! if this partner was your only person then more then likely his test was incorrect. blood tests are not always accurate!
was he tested with a blood test?
ok couple of questions, did you get a swab done ? had he ever had blisters on mouth or genitals? have you ever received oral from anyone before him? It is poss it was a false negative … what where his numbers?
