i posted on here about 6 or 7 weeks ago and at that time i had blood work that showed the igg 2 was 1.15 (positive) that was on 6/23/15-- i did a follow up test on 7/31/15 and the igg 2 came back 0.82 (negative).. so is it safe to say that i just had a false positive and i do NOT have the virus??
Yes, it would be safe to say that, so long as you had no physical symptoms. Did you have symptoms to make you go get tested?
You do have to test a four months after post exposure to be sure. Takes time for antibodies to build in your system. How long ago was this last test post exposure?
i was with a man 6/19/15-- by 6/22 or 23 i started getting a cold sore thats what made me get tested cuz i thought it was odd--- i have never had any symptoms and i have had maybe 3 cold sores my whole life--the igg 1 was greater then 5-- but the igg 2 was 1.15. i never developed any symptoms after that either.. so i just did the labs again because its been weighing heavily on me.
Yeah, you're going to need to wait a couple more months to be sure. Oct 16th would be the period you should be tested.
If you already have had cold sores on your mouth inbthe past, he can't reinfect you w HSV 1 on the mouth again.
