fast heartbeat and trembling of the whole body

Today in college i went to talk to a girl i never had conversation with. then suddenly i couldn't acumulate the courage and stopped. my heartbeat got fast and my whole body started to tremble at that time i could not even talk to my friends normally. i got really depressed i think my heart just got week. this usually happens in these types of situation with me like talking to bossneutral, proposecheesygrin etc. but my hands tremble all the time. now should i consult to heart specialist or physiatrist or i am just a boy with low confidence. kindly suggest.

Hello, It sounds like you have some social anxiety. Have you got a Counseller at your college that you cold have a chat with. It maybe that you need to build your confidence.

Elizabeth.

Hello

thanks

No i don't have any Counselor to chat with. i also feel depressed about the things i know doesn't matter that much. just cant stop myself from worrying. I don't know how to gain confidence. lil tricks on internet don't work.

And any idea about hand trembling in routine even at home when no one is around.

Hi there, it's just a confidence thing that has affected your self esteem my friend, what your experiencing is not really uncommon for young people who are branching out from home and learning to become more independent it's all very daunting for some and can be quite overwhelming.

Your obviously worried though because of the symptoms your experiencing which is all new to you, your heart isn't weak at all it's what happens when you start to feel nervous and is totally normal just unpleasant.

My advise is see your college counsellor who can give you some practical advise on building up your confidence, it's not a quick hit but takes time and small steps are needed, you can discuss your thoughts and feelings which he/she can again help you with and learn how to "re frame them".

Your not alone, your correct in what you say, your just a boy with low confidence but that can be turned around.

My advise is try not to avoid situations you feel uncomfortable and nervous in, I found admitting to myself that I was nervous and that it was understandable made a difference even telling the person I was talking to that I was nervous about it helped as they tended to understand and admit themselves that they were also, especially girls they tend to like a bit of vulnerability as it's definitely not the confident guy who gets the best girls!

In the mean time accept you've got your confidence and self esteem to work on and let the learning and growing begine.

Take care of yourself.

Neil

Just noticed you've not got college counsellor so go see your GP who should be able to refer you to free counselling. A good website to look at is Centre for Clinical Interventions (CCI) which has work books and sheets on confidence and self esteem, worry etc all really helpful and with tasks etc to work on in between modules.

Hello, i agree with Aspinan, go to your GP to see what's on offer to help build your confidence. In the mean time look for some self help books on self esteem and confidence building. Good luck.

Elizabeth.

Thank you very much

I'll do this exactly.

Thank you aspinan for your kind consideration

I'll definitly go to GP for some help.
