Fasting

Hi all. I have suffered from diverticulitis for 2 years now. I have tried various meds during flare ups without much success. I have found that fasting for 48 hours can clear a flare up in no time

Thanks Ken. I will remember that.

That’s good to know, Ken.

Ken,

Does this work with a flare that causes fever, pain (like labor pains) and mucus/blood ? How was you diagnosed?

I don't know how effective it is against attacks with fever as my flare ups are never feverish. However, for me, fasting stops the pains and diarrhea very quickly and effectively. The theory is that the bacterial infection or imbalance in the bowel needs food to stay alive. Cutout the food and the bacteria dieso very quickly.

I was diagnosed by ct scan followed by a colonoscopy . The fasting clears the pain, diarrhea and the blood and mucus. Hope it works for you too. No food, just water.

With a flare do you have experience the blood and mucus?

Yes, usually in the morning
