just wondering if the fatigue is a symtom any of you suffer with?
Hi Charlene, as far as im concerned, fatigue is a big part of RA. I was advised that you have to pace yourself. If you are able to go shopping or socialising, then leave house chores until another day and vice versa. I find if i overdo it, then as well as pain and inflammation, i feel like i have flu. so i have learnt by experience to pace myself, although some have no choice. I f you look on the Arthritis website, it may help. Hope this helps.
Yes need Charlene. It was for e the most unexpected and saddest part of this disease. I didn’t now either and in many ways I could cope with the horrific joint pain but not the fatigue !The thing that made most difference was not drugs…but making major changes to my diet. and seeing a nutritionalist and taking the appropriate supplements for me. Gluten s big one, don’t ignore the diet!
Hi Charlene
Fatigue plays a massive problem when your an RA sufferer , it is not something you can visably quantify but the best way it is explained is when I read " but you don’t look sick " The spoon theory
Do yourself favour read Spoon Theory by Christine Miserandino
people are often called spoonies when they are suffering from any chronic ( invisible ) illness
When you cut yourself some slack you will realise you achieve quite a lot when some days it takes all your energy reserves to Just get out of bed in the mornings
Hope this helps happy
Oh, yes. For the first several years. As my meds were tweaked and I learned how to take care of myself the fatigue gradually diminished. I still have episodes but not nearly as bad. Often a 15-minute nap did the trick. But it is also important you get the proper amount of sleep.
Absolutely. But I have had to force myself out of bed in order to eventually feel better. I was afraid to allow myself to stay in bed and lose function.
Hi. I am sorry to hear you have this awful fatigue. I have struggled with it for years. I wanted to ask if you are currently on any treatments? I am on Rituxan. I am new to this forum, and there might be another forum for this but yours was the first thing that came up that was close to how I am feeling. Take care
