Fear of a brain tumor/cancer

Hello, I am a sixteen year old male who has been suffering from pressure in the left side of my head and brain fog. I have had a CT scan and everything was ok. However, the symptoms i just mentioned have not gone away, and I still worry about them daily. Is this just anxiety or should I be worried?

Well the gold standard test is an MRI scan. I would go back to your dr and request an  MRI scan. It may be de to anxiety  but physical  signs and symptoms should always be checked out thoroughly before the diagnosis of anxiety/depression can be made.

I've never heard of an actual physical pressue but brain fog - oh years. Sometimes I feel like a waking zombie.  If you've had a CT scan, I would ask for a second opionion - another doctors radiologist to read the x-rays and if you are still worried, ask your doctor to send you for a MRI. Perhaps it's just sinus pressure due to sinuses, but the brain fog is something else.  I would say anxiety.

I'm 15 and I have the exact same symptoms and I've had a cat scan too and everything was fine. I'm pretty sure it's just all anxiety. Just Know your not alone and a lot of people feel this way

MRI scan does a continuous imaging of the brain etc.CT scan does not.A neurologistwould always order an MRI scan as opposed to a CT scan.

Thank you all for your wonderful replies! There are a couple of things I would like to add. First off this feeling comes and goes within a couple of days and it often restarts with pressure pushing down just above my eyes. Sometimes I feel very tired. Lastly I drink a lot of soda, it's a habit I am trying to kick. Could this be affecting my health?

Hi again

With regard to drinking soda, what kindisit? I suggestthatyougoogle the contents of the soda and check for any possible ideeffects. Doesitcontain caffeine, aspartame, ettc. Do you havea foodintlerance?

Until you identify the soda and the constituents of it it is impossible to comment. Some high energy drinks are said to be conunter productive if not dangerous to health so researching it is the only way to find out really.

The pressure over your  eyes.head could be due to a couple of things migraine being one of them, it is good that you are being checked out.

I assume that your blood pressure and heart  rate is  unaffected by the soda drinks? Too much of anything can be bad but if you are allergic  or intolerant to any of the substances in soda drinks then obviously  avoid them. xx

The guy is 16 years old, if the doctor figured that there wasn't need for any more investigation, I guess there's no point in searching more onto this. This is clearly anxiety.

.Can you please expand on this?

Hi I trained as a nurse . I also have personal experience of a neurological condition that went undiagnosed by ct scan but which was diagnosed by MRI scan. The condition was/is treatable.

I totally agree with your extremely sensible advice .

I've suffered from the same thing. Wth he brain fog it would be so bad. I would be driving a feel like o wasn't even really driving. It was horrible. As time went on and I accepted that I had anxiety and I started finding things that helped it almost went away. I downloaded a calming app on my phone o lay down and listen to the calming sounds and it helps so much. As for the pressure. I don't just get it on one side. I get it all over my whole head. It's debilitating. Horrible horrible pressure!!! I got a Ct and an MRI and all was good. Then I looked up tension headaches and that's exactly what it is! And it's nostly caused my poor posture

That causes tension in neck then pressure in head! The best thing that has helped me with the pressure in my head is making sure my shoulders are never shrugged! Always keep them down! It has helped almost 100%! And also hot showers! Just standing there and letting super hot water pour on your head and neck!
