Im 21 years old and I have a fear of doctors, I refuse to go for a number of reasons, I'm scared of needles..I'm also scared of blood tests and their results. I need at least a months notice before I go even then I make excuses not to go. Knowing I'm going makes me incredibly nervous and triggers and anxiety attacks..causing depressive thoughts
I understandhow you feel I went through the exact same thing but trust me once you get it over with you will feel a whole lot better I was terrified to get a CT scan because I thought I was going to get bad results or something.just have the courage to go it could save you from your anxiety.
If you have to go to the doctors for any reason at all, is there anyone that you really trust that could come with you? Having that support might make it easier for you to cope.x
I take some one with me every time, I just end up being a shaking wreck and break down crying
Amy,
maybe it would help you to ask to speak to the community nurse, doctors can be quite intimidating but I find nurses much easier to open up to. They are used to dealing with people who don't like injections as it is them that do most of them, they will probably help you discuss your problem with the doctor.
