Does anyone else have this Fear? I'm scared my hearr will stop or something lol. I've had a stress test, 4 or 5 ekgs, 3 chest rays, blood tests, an echocardiogram, & a holter monitor. Nothing was found but skipped beats. Any advice?

Hi I use to have a fear of excercise for years , i have health anxiety and it always was centered around my heart.
I now excercise twice a day , because I feel it helps the anxiety so much
When i first started i would get panic attacks when i noticed my heart beating faster or my breathing getting deeper , but what I did was keep working though it and the feelings off panic would go away .
On a few occasions i would have to stop working out , because I got to overwhelmed.
My advice to you would be to start very slow , instead of saying to.ypurself i have to work out for 30 minutes ect , just start with a short walk of 10 minutes or a few push ups and sit ups ect .
Keep dping that untill you realise ypur heart will not get damaged or give up while working out
The thing is not working the heart is very bad for it , the hearts a muscle like any other muscle in the body , so if it's not exercised it becomes weaker .
Another thought is you have to think of people that work out hard were there hearts beating at 200 beats per minute for ages and they don't drop dead .
Excercise helps your lungs also makes them stronger and cleaner .
Just start with slow walking which is good for you and you will find your heart will cope well.

That a few times while working out i would have quite bad panic feelings , and my heart would beat in my neck it was so fast and I would get dizxy and felt I couldn't breath well , i never stopped working out i keept going and yes it was super scary and my mind told me I was going to pass out ect , bit I didmt nothing happened i just felt funny and gross .

Yeah I get up & walk everyday . I also use to play basketball and be the mascot. I also eat a lot of salmon & fish for omega 3 fatty acids. When i had the stress test it took me 9 mins to get to my heart rate to 175 beats. I'm just still worried though . My great aunt had 2 strokes & lived. My grandad also had high blood pressure & he was drinking and his the main artery in his heart burst. I'm just really worried. My mom has mitral valve prolapse but she ran track for 2 years & cheered. I just panic everytime i have shortness of breath or chest pain because the Google always says if you have that you should seek immediate medical attention. I'm just scared & confused about my condition. I also have kyphosis & i was told that can cause shortness of breath
I know what you mean but that's great that you do some type of excercise , i thought you were not doing any so that's great .
I get short of breath from anxiety so i get how scary it feels , i tend to hyperventilate alot without even knowing im doing it .
Sorry i cant offer much advice because I still am over awear of my heart
By the way i get pain in my chest in the center alot im not sure what its from i find eating to much can bring it on ..

YES I've been having that problem since September. I was running like I usually do and my heart started pumping differently and I got light headed. I've had 3 ekgs and blood test and xrays done 3 times in 4 months and they tell me my body is healthily as can be but I'm still scared to exercise but I'm starting to feel a bit better and been doing a lot of walking and things around the house. I hope I'm able to run soon bc I miss it. I hope you're able to do things you use to enjoy yourself.

I've been afraid to exercise too. As it is I don't really exercise, so I'm worried that despite the fact I have no other risk factors, it's causing me heart problems. Been to a doctor twice fearing heart problems but since I don't have insurance yet, he didn't do any tests and said my heart sounds fine and it's all anxiety.
A few days ago I was having bad anxiety all day. Somebody in an anxiety support group recommend that I try an intense 5 minute thigh workout. I decided to give it a go and got through it without any chest pain, giving me some relief. If I did have heart problems, that probably would have caused a lot of pain. I'd suggest starting with something like that, maybe while you have somebody around to talk to just to ease your mind. Then, you can move up to longer workouts. That's what I plan on doing!
Yeah ive realized that if i had heart problems, I wouldn't be able to get up &walk as much as I do. I saw a congestive heart failure commercial &the lady had swollen ankles. another one & a man couldn't even walk up the stairs lol. I can do all that, I'm going, I don't smoke or drink, I eat fairly healthy, I use to play ball & be the mascot lol. so my chance of heart problems are probably really slim. & i get yours are too. Thankyou for the advice also!
All sounds very familiar too. I used to be a real gym bunny but since getting skipped beats and flutters (had all heart tests too) while exercising I have stopped going. I find that these happen a lot when I lift weights even if not heavy. I’ve tried to push on through at times but when I get home after exercising I always struggle to sleep that night because my heart beats fast. Walking doesn’t cause so much problem. I also get skipped beats and a fast heart rate after eating a big meal too.
