So about a month an a half ago, I had a big panic attack out of the blue, followed by severe physical symptoms for a couple of days. I was then diagonesed with anxiety, and have been taking an anxiolitic (stressam) until now. However, for about a week now, new scary symptoms that I never felt appeared. The area right below my eye and near my temple feel numb, my left eye feels like is tense all the time (hard to stay opened) and feels like it's shaking when closed (and sometiles hurts behind it), plus my temples occasionaly hurt and sometimes I feel my artery on my temple pounding without touching it.
Not only all that, but also everytime I swallow, I hear that "click" sound as if they were blocked, and I hear a "beeeeeep" sound every other day..
So yeah all these symptoms are new to me ans quite scary, but my family says it's all still linked to anxiety (even though I still didn't find the source, might be linked to childhood events.. Can this all be linked to anxiety? Or could it be something worse, even though I had a panic attack a month ago and clearly had anxiety disorder? Thank you...
Hi, sounds like you have a few things going on there.
About me...
I have suffered Anxiety from mild to incapacitatingly chronic over many years and have experienced most anxiety related side effects, had doctor / hospital checks and examinations and have also had most of the UK prescription meds for anxiety.
About your symptoms in the context of an anxiety sufferer (which is only my experience, I am not a doctor and symptoms can have many meanings )....
1: Eye and temple hurting / feeling numb...
I have been consultant diagnosed as having 'Cluster headaches' after an MRI brain scan.
I have the above symptoms when a cluster headache strikes.
I take a medication called 'Naramig' to stop it.
2. When you swallow you hear a 'Click' sound. (Assuming the click comes from your throat)
Sometimes so do I, this was diagnosed as 'Pharyngeal Spasm' due to the tightening of the throat muscles as a side effect of Anxiety.
I was prescribed Diazepam 5mg to relax the muscles.
3. Sometimes you hear a 'Beeeep' sound.
I was diagnosed with 'Tinnitus' many years ago and it's something you have to live with. You could try a 'White noise' generator which is like a little hearing aid that emits a frequency that sounds like hissing and is just above the frequency of the 'Beeeeeep, or ring'
As stated this is only me being empathetic to your symptoms, it's always best to get checked out by your doctor and discuss it with them.
