hello,
the last 13 months are very tough for me. every single day i have the fear of something terrible will happen to me, mainly coming from my heart. not all days are terible, but always bad thoughts come in my mind sometimes i manage to overcome, sometimes i get a very bad stressful days where i feel chest/arm pain sweating hot flushes. i have visited several cardiologists, nothing to worry about they conclude. last week every time i feel any kind of pain around my chest or arms i immediately start being terrified and have hot flashes and sweating, then cold chills and shaking. i am desperate, need any kind of support. can i have real heart attack?
you’ve been checked out by the doctors and everything is OK. That leaves one other thing …
chronic anxiety and panic with anxiety symptoms. This is very common and the symptoms can actually feel like something is terribly physically wrong.
But not to worry because none of the anxiety symptoms can harm you. Most of them are caused by a release of adrenaline and those symptoms can cause chest pains and pains anywhere. pain in the arms, shaking, sweating, and hundreds of other symptoms.
The symptoms you are having are those related to panic. That’s why people who get the symptoms may rush to the hospital only to find out that nothing is wrong.
what you need to do is to learn ways to manage the anxiety and get rid of the negative thoughts. The mind will believe whatever you tell it so if you tell it that something is wrong, then you will get those terrible symptoms.
see if you can get some counseling for this. They can help you manage this so you feel better! You can do online virtual counseling if that makes you feel better.
In the meantime, find ways to relax your mind! Go on YouTube and listen to some soothing meditations for anxiety. Also, it’s very important to practice proper breathing for panic and anxiety. This will calm everything down! there are some great breathing exercises on YouTube!
the negative thoughts that we have are not based on reality. They are only based on fear which is not fact. You can let them go because they are not a part of you. Don’t let them control your life! These are things that a counselor can show you.
Just remember that you are going to be OK and you have to work at this.
Remember that your health is good. but get that support! I do hope that you feel better soon and take one day at a time.
your words are very supportive and really thank you. i had tried a lot many of what you mentioned but still didn’t manage to control this heart fear…even sharing my problem helps a bit at least.
