Hello all, I hope you all are well these days. I was wondering if any of you have ever experienced this weird feeling in your head. I woke up with a stuffy ear like when you fly on an airplane and your ear gets stuffed up. Then every time someone spoke to me or if I heard a loud noise, it produced a chiming noise or a ringing noise. My head felt weird like fuzzy. Aside from that my neck and shoulders/back have been aching. The fact that it has been usually cold here in New York doesn't help with the aches either. Ugh! I will be so glad to be past this stage in my life.
Yes I get that quite often, ears feel stuffed up, ringing, neck pain and tension headache. It’s part of peri and all the anxiety that affects your inner ear. It’s listed on 66 symptoms of peri. the most annoying symptoms, can’t wait for hormones to settle.
Thank you Ampat1. At least I know that I am not alone. These symptoms really have a mind of their own.
I get that too. Sinus pressure and soreness behind my eyes. A pressure feeling in my head and ears and aching in back of my neck and shoulders. It comes and goes and I am sure is hormonally related.
Thank you so much for posting. You know how our minds begin to run wild with all kinds of thoughts.

These migraine symptoms can come on so suddenly and leave you feeling nauseated and off balanced and fatigued. It’s a miserable feeling. ![]()

I’m so pleased you posted your description of your symptoms. I thought this was something totally unconnected and couldn’t understand why it wouldn’t go with antibiotics (several different courses). I have had a “blocked ear” - as you described just like being on a plane for nearly 4 years now. I did get a referral to a consultant who was unhelpful and I’ve just coped with it since. I did manage to find some information about membranes “drying out” during and after menopause but didn’t think this meant the inside of my head!
I use one of those salt water sprays after discussing with GP (of course) and although I thought I was being fobbed off - it actually does help (when I use it) but not a cure. I have found my blocked ear has eased up somewhat since using HRT patches. I found using a Craniosacral osteopath for the tension headaches and neck/upper back pain seems to reduce the intensity and frequency. I have yet to convince myself to tackle my diet to improve my wellbeing but just made a baby step and got a personal trainer to help with fitness and confidence.
Head full of bees is a perfect description, I feel like this all the time, same sore neck, back of my head and shoulders, head feels like its going to explode but not with pain just full of something. I also feel off balance a lot of the time, It’s not dizzy just my head feels strange it last for a few seconds the goes away. Sometimes I just lie down and think will this ever be over! Its hard to convince yourself its not some nasty disease, if it wasnt for this forum I think I would have gone mad. x
I have that blocked ear feeling on and off for few years now but I never thought it could be hormones but when all the crazy peri symptoms stated last year, anxiety and palpitations, severe headaches I found this forum and realized all of these are hormone related including ear symptoms. I am 39, still get regular periods but peri symptoms started about a year ago. I can deal with painful periods but these vestibular migraine and anxiety are unbearable. Hope we get relief from all the symptoms soon.
