My anxiety was crippling me for the last few months - I give in after trying all the natural approaches and started on meds (citalopram 10mg) on Wednesday.....the gp told me it would take a good few weeks to reach it's full affect....day 1 I felt a bit wobbly but no anxiety and day 2 anxiety crept back but I was able to overcome it ok and get on with my day....day 3 I've woke with no anxiety at all!!!! Could the meds be working,or has my beast given me a few days off just....bare in mind in this past 2 months I've never had a day off it's always there!!
I have heard a lot of good reports fron citalopram. Pity I cannot take it with my heart problems.
It is a newer type of SSRI family of drugs like prozac (fluoxetine) but doesn't seem to have the harsh side effects.

Those types of drugs interfere with the heart rhythm. If you don't have heart problems don't worry they won't bother you.
I have dilated cardiomyopathy which is a type of heart failure. My heart is enlarged and the pumping ability is weak,
I aslo have atrial frbrillation which is a arrhthmia. Also known as heart flutter.
I was prescribed citalopram but did not take it have now been prescribed paroxetine as well as propanol is citalopram better or the sam was paroxetine ?
