Feeling decent

Today I feel pretty decent. I think some of my side effects are lifting. I feel tired for only a few hours, nausea seemed to lift well before lunch finally. Normally I was dealing with nausea most all day until supper time.  Sometimes I didn't even get to eat supper. Was amazing when I got some lunch that I didn't have to fight for the whole hour to take a bite here and there to get it down. Was able to eat and then relax for a while before going back to work.

I was getting nausea before taking this drug but it definitely intensified it. So I'm kind of hoping that at least the nausea is going to stay subsided so I can stop losing so much weight. Lost 40lbs in 3 months. Not a crazy amount since people who go on diets can lost more than that but 3 months of struggling to eat is no fun.

I'm kind of wondering though, if this drug doesnt work for me has anybody else tried St. John's Wort?  I heard it's pretty good stuff. I guess they have something in it that can make you a little sensative to light causing eye issues but you can get that corrected if you jump off of it. Plus that's just a theory for the most part. I've researched for a bit and didn't find DEFINITIVE PROOF that it can cause eye issues.

Hi Adam not sure about the St John's Wort as I have heard various things about it a lot of which I can't remember. It's good that your nausea has subsided, I too lost a stone in weight on Sertraline and am still struggling to put it back on even though I am now eating normally. A lot of the side effects do lift after the first brewer's but if it seems to be working for you now why mess with it??

I definitely have a ways to go yet. Only been on this for almost 2 weeks. So I know things can change but hopefully the side effects stay away and this keeps my nausea away. I was going to at least go up to 50mg but I think I'll wait it out for a little bit first. Who knows, maybe 25mg is my magic number. If I'm not at least 70% I'll go up and face the side effects head-on again, haha.  They probably won't be unbearable like they were when I started though.

All in all I was just looking for other options incase this decided to take a nose dive on me out of no where.

Hi Adam that's good that you are going to wait it out you need to give at least 4 weeks before you look at changing the dose or anything. The side effects can last up to about 6-8 weeks though they do diminish over time. Keep well
