I went cold turkey off Citalopram about 2 months ago. I was doing great and feeling the best I have ever felt up until 2 weeks ago. I was at work and had to leave because I felt very out of it and freaking out. I felt like I was in another world and my brain did not belong to me. I went to the doctor and got back on my citalopram 20mg and have been back on them now for what will be 2 weeks on Nov. 4th. I am feeling better here and there but still getting very anxious. My biggest concern is I am still getting these feeling as if I am outside my body and my brain is in a fog. I feel like as I am typing this I sm just a shell in my body and confused and not sure what I am doing. I am worried this is something else besides anxiety like a brain tumor or cancer. Has anyone else felt like this and how much longer will it take for the Cit to kick in.
You came off far too fast which will not have helped.
My GP says at least 2wks to a month for it to work and see from other answers elsewhere some people find can take six to eight weeks
Big hugs

Hi its not brain tumor at all, Citaloprom takes 4 to 6 weeks for citaloprom to kick in so u have to hold on, try to do some excises it helps like walking, cleaning the house etc, you can always phone the NHS helpline for further reasurence taake care.
