Its now 10 weeks post my Scarf Ostiotomomy ( wrong spellings) and my foot has shown no sign of going down in the slightest.. I face the whole thing again in 5 months after falling and breaking the toe week 2. I have no idea how it looks because of this awful swelling.. Just need some reassuring words..
Hi Sue. I know it must be really disappointing for you especially when most folk including me have been posting messages about how well they have been doing (which is only natural). I do feel for you! You have just been really unlucky to fall so badly and so soon after having the op. It is good that your surgeon is going to operate again. He wouldn't do so if he didn't think he could make things better and I am sure you won't fall again after the next op! I know it is a long time to wait. You just need lots of patience... Keep your chin up.
Oh dear you have my sympathy. I am now 13 weeks post op after having both feet done. My feet are still too swollen to get them into any nice sandles and feeling a bit low as I have a couple of do's to go to. I am told that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Remember this isn't life threatening and you will get better just a bit later than you thought. This time next year it will be just a memory. Chin up!
Hi sorry to hear about all your troubles just maybe the swelling is due to fact ur foot needs another op and hopefully when this so done will heal properly and recover quicker than it is right now think of the rest of your life ahead with no pain in your foot rather than the 10 weeks you've gone through its been real bad luck having a fall and I really hope you have a much better recovery after your next op stay positive in sure the swelling will be because of the fall injuring ur foot, mine still swells in 8 weeks post op and started back to work but was told at apt last week with consultant to expect swelling for several months and pain now n then because of healing. Wishing u well and hope u find help and encouragement on here to help u through x

I'm so sorry that you have to go through it all again. And I'm sure its hard hearing about everyone else success. I really feel for you. Sometimes these things happen and soon enough you will be healed up and back on your feet. Focus on the end results. Everything Will be fine.

Hi Bev, sorry to hear your swelling has not gone down either, your right its not life threatening, so many people worse off than me, I'm just feeling down cos tired of the pain. Not only from this but from an achilis tendon that has been playing me up for some time now. I was getting it sorted but a mix up when I moved has led to a mix up and now I am without the consultant that was treating me. I am reluctant to see my GP and chase it up until this has been sorted. I had hoped it would have all been sorted by now. This set back has left me in a bit of a dilemma and in constant pain..
I'm 14 weeks post still swollen purple painful and got a limp 😒but is improving very slowly week by week hold on in there !!

Sorry to hear bad news.
on the funny part, I felt down immediately after operation," jumping " from the bed in the hospital. Thanks God, I was fallen right on my butt with the leg up! They were all very scary and glad to send me home, I told them I know how to fall.
This is why it's very important to train your balance. In my case I was under the influence of drugs.
everything will be OK, just a little bit later!
Hi, sorry to hear about your problems. I had bilateral osteomy 10 days ago and have both feet in plaster casts. My surgeon insists on this as too many people used to come back to him through falls etc, dislodging the new joint. I suggest you ask your surgeon to go for forefoot casts when he next operates on you. Good luck!
Thinking of you sue. It is such a roller coaster. I echo what others have said and hope that you will be able to look back on this when you are recovered and feel better.

Thanks to all of you for your messages, I am feeling a bit better today, i guess it's all the pain I am in with my feet, not only from the operation but from this achelis tendon that is also causing pain in my feet. I had hoped I would have moved on from all this bungion stuff by now and been able to chase up getting this sorted too... I did not enjoy all the sitting around the first time round and can't say I relish the thought of having to do this all again. The one thing I can be thankful for is that some have to do this perminatly and touch wood, I am nor pt one of them yet...xxx
I think that is why my consultant said, that next time he would be putting me in plaster Barbara....at least I know I am not alone xxxx
Hi Sue, I'm so sorry poor you, really feel for you, you've had such a bad time of it, so unlucky. Positive things will be much better for you next time round, hope things can be sorted out for you quickly. Meantime make sure you and yours treat and thoroughly spoil you big time while you're waiting😊

It really is not that bad. The plaster is only for the forefoot, and then covered in bandages, but at least that way your toes are firmly embedded and cannot come to any harm. Good luck, and be careful next time xx
Hi Bee, I'm sorry I forgot to reply to you... Thanks for your lovely message, it's nice to know people who understand. Still got my fat foot and it still hurts from time to time. I have pain in my ankle which is strange, might have been walking on my heel in that shoe for so long. I long to see my foot normally but guess that takes time. I have made an appointment to finally see someone about my achelis tendon problem.. Which is on Friday. Hope all of you get well soon and THANK YOU all for your support and lovely messages...
Hi Sue. Yes, I reckon ankles and backs get a bit out of sorts while they adjust to the new gait. How is the swimming going? Would that be good exercise at this point?

Hi Nicolla and Bee, the swimming unfortunately has only happened twice so far, but I als enjoyed a night out for a two hour spa and a curry at the health club we belong to.. Think I could do with one right now lol..
Bee, thank you, I will beg the GP to arrange an appointment with someone, I think a steroid injection in the foot might sort it for a few months, as it did last time.. Sadly you can only have about three, I've just had the one so far.. After that it will have to be an operation, 😮😜😖🙀xxxxxx
Pleased for you managing to fit in a curry in with your swim, sounds my kind of health club!! But what a horror your injection sounds, hopefully it will last a good long time, can imaging the word operations is enough to send you off into the corner screaming..
