Hi hippies,
Just to let you know, I've had a week in the sun. I feel great now (5 mths p.o.) this last 2 wks my body aches have gone, groin pain gone, still got swollen ankle but it can take 12/18 mths for that to heal so I'm told. So still walking slow because of it. I would say I'm 90 per cent bk to normal.
Went to see my physiotherapist today and she has discharged me yayy, things are on the up. ππ
Hope you are all healing well xx
Glad to hear you are doing so well
What a great day!! So happy for you!! πππΉπ·πΎπππππ. Makes me feel that there's hope that I'll feel normal again!! π€π€. LD
Happy for you.
And this is a big encouragment to those of us six weeks out! Thanks
Hi girls.
I too was getting fed up &frustrated with how long is it going to take to feel normal again. As people on here says... everyone heals at their own pace. Don't rush it, you may not even take 5 mths like me. I've still got little way to go but it's easier. Keep with it xx
How wonderful... due to my ankle I have purchased an AirCast ankle support it arrived today and I have worn it and am pain free in my ankle this evening the first time since op....
What I like about this support you put in fridge and the gel gets cold so it does 2 jobs in one, ices and supports....
Hi guys first time. I am 9 weeks post-op now. But after six weeks my surgeon said I can sleep on my stomach. Been sleeping on my stomach for the last 3 weeks no issues. I have noticed that no one else is sleeping on their stomach.
Hey Big Show!! Welcome!! I've never been a person to sleep on stomach. Still sleeping on my back. I want to try sleeping on side. I'm 7 weeks out tomorrow from my second surgery. Hope you continue you on the road to recovery!! π LD
Oh wait you didn't hear me yet! :-)
I can now, at almost 7 weeks post op sleep on my stomach for a few hours until I wake up and feel very uncomfortable, at which time I roll over!
Biggest issue with stomach sleeping is that a nerve or a nerve bundle had been damaged before the surgery By a broken part of the earlier hip implant, and is now also traumatized from the surgery. So...sleeping on stomach sends shooting burning pain down the back of operated leg⦠arghhh
Before and after surgeries am normally a tummy and side sleeper!
hi brenda,
well done girl -- and thank you for sharing - big accomplishment -
big warm hug

Congratulations Brenda! HOORAY!
I think this must mean that we need our surgeons to prescribe a full week-'some holiday in the sun.
I like it.
Seriously- glad to know that you have done so well. Enjoy.

I don't know if it was the sun or just my time to start feeling normal. The sun really helped though xx
