Hello ladies
Well I posted on here a week ago that I was seeing some improvements. I did for 4 days and hopefully I will again.
I've been going back and forward to the doctors the last 6 months with all the horrible symptoms like a lot of you ladies. My doctor is making me feel that I am an anxious nuisance. I am on HRT (for roughly 15 weeks. I've got/had some awful frightening feelings.
Terror
Feeling low
Panic attacks and so anxious. I don't want to go anywhere unless it is local and not for to long.
Absolutely shattered (had about 20 hours sleep in the last month)no kidding.
I feel anxious all the time now. I just can't relax,my body is so tense.
Burning mouth
Headaches and tinnitus constantly the last 5 months.
Lightheaded.
I'm sure certain things are due to the high anxiety.
My thoughts and mood changes every hour.
Well my doctor has not been that understanding. She put me on HRT because I asked her. I've had no discussions about it. Months ago she advised me to contact the NHS anxiety and depression service which I did and spoke with them a bit
What annoys me is that she just thinks it is me I'm sure nothing to do with the menopause. When I rang her last week about possible checking hormones she replied that it is definitely not my hormones and to contact the anxiety and depression number again. That I had to do it for myself.
Where do i go from here?
She said there's nothing she can do .
I don't want to feel like this, all this is getting me down. I feel like I'm holding my husband back and because of me he is wasting a few years
Michelle I know how you feel Anxiety and meno comes as s package we all are here for you darling do what you can to get through it hugs
I'm going through all that too plus irregular bleeding this whole month
I know this may not be what you want to hear but if you have been checked for any other medical conditions and cleared then its definitely hormones. You may need to work with different HRT's until you find what works for you if they work for you at all. Everyone's body responds differently. You will never get any results or answers from regular GP's. You will be spinning your wheels. You would really need to see a doc that specializes in meno, a good gynae, or a endo specialist to get real insight about your hormones. No doubt what you are feeling is hormonal and you know your own body better than anyone. You have to treat your own symptoms best you can until you find the right specialist for help. The right help is out there it just may take some time to find it.
Hi Michelle
GPs are often not able to deal very well with the emotional or psychological aspects of ill health. I am sorry to hear of the anxiety symptoms you are going through - it must be very difficult for you.
Sometimes our physical symptoms are a direct result of how we are feeling, so our mental well being affects our physics health. Never under estimate how much our minds can affect our bodies.
For instance migraines, IBS symptoms, panic attacks can be triggered by our mental health. Therefore it may be a good idea to follow up the talking therapies suggested, as it will certainly help with the mood swings, anxiousness and terror you describe.
Hope you feel better soon.
I'm so sorry to hear how your doing x Sending you a big hug xx

Dear Michelle,
I'm with you've the panic attacks anxiety thing I feel too i 'm holding husband back on Things! Everything sees a big ordeal and I only feel relaxed at home outside suddenly seems a strange place to be! I have moments of high anxiety too it sucks! X
Thankyou everyone for your kind words xx
New doctor springs to mind - go and find one elsewhere - your doctor sounds like a real cow. We are all here for you on this site - it definitely sounds like hormones to me - please don't get too down. Of course these hormone changes make us feel utterly awful - it'll go please remember that. But you do need to see someone more understanding - your poor husband isn't going to have a clue and this is why we always feel so alone - you may have to go private - find an older understanding female - it's bloody hard - my surgery was unbelievably awful - I then move house and have to register elsewhere and my new surgery is amazing in comparison. It makes a hell of a difference which may be the reason why my symptoms have almost completely gone - thinking of you and it'll go away eventually but find another doctor - lots of luck and hugs to you x
Hi
I've actually booked a therapist that deals with anxiety. Thankyou x
Thankyou for your great advice. Would I have to get referred? Would it be best to see a specialist?
I can totally reate to this pinkcatfairy. My hubby is 10 years older than me and ready to start travelling a bit, but I feel more comfortable at home. Mind you it's not that I dont want to travel but I feel anxious at the thought. We went on a 10 day cruise with our kids earlier this year and it was a 10 day panic attack for me. I found it very hard to relax.
That's so like me. My hubby is 9 years older than me. I am forcing myself to go out places and lots of times when I'm out i am in a state of panic all the time. I go all weak, muscles stiffen, feels like everything is distant and I feel faint. It's not fair you really want to go places but you feel like dying. Oh I would do anything to feel my old NORMAL self again. It gets you feeling depressed doesn't it ?
Hi Michelle maybe get a referral to endcrinologist maybe adrenal issues going on which need sorted before hrt xxx
Dear patricia,
Thanks for your reply, yes it's awful isn't it, I'm glad I'm not alone! I have always been able nervous but menopause seems to have made it all so worse! Xx
I fully agree with replies here, and also about adrenal issues.
What frustrates me is that doctors or some, don't seem to be able to join the dots up...the menoupause (as we all know) is about hormones in decline, what is bound to happen?
HRT in some instances does not help...
You're depressed because your're depressed no patholigical reason is absurd, it really is, does one have to go to medical school for 7 years to understand that fact.
get totally p&*^% off with this, the menopause does not affect you mentally rubbish...
Sorry, fed up with all of this.
I hope you manage to find a "doctor" who listens, but keep going back until they listen, all the best.
Hi Michelle. Hope you get on well with this appointment better than your gp. sending big hug to you. xxx
