Feeling pretty pleased with myself.......

After a few days of truly awful pain, both in my TKR knee and the other one which now has severe OA, I'm feeling heaps better today. I returned to Physio after a couple of weeks break, and really enjoyed being back. I managed 10 mins on the static bike, 10mins each on a potter's wheel and and a lathe (brilliant for pedal work!) And 300 leg presses with 50 kg weights!

I'll be 12 weeks post op on Friday, and was starting to worry about my progress, but today has given me a real boost!

Its good to have a good day hopefully everyone can get one.  I'm three weeks today since left knee done,  rt one done a few years ago,  I had my first physio session,  never had any measurements to compare but the new left  knee is at 80 although th straight kg is not quit ther yet, lots of exercise for that., and the rt knee which I had manipulated whilst in theatre re is 115. It had become slightly stiff but is now absolutely fine,  she is not concerned with that one,  so it's exercise all the way for me now,  and she would prefer if I use my stick whilst walking to correct my posture,  how's everyone else doing that I had discussions with ??

ooo terri thats brill well done!!! im 12 weeks on Thursday and im fed up of folks saying oooo arent you driving yet ooooo arent you back at work yet??? but I feel im doing ok so when I no other people are struggling somewhat it makes me ferl better if ya no what I mean????

So pleased to hear you are feeling better I know you have had it pretty rough you truly deserve it. You got me through some dark days (and nights) I wish you well !

It does sometimes feel as though you will never get your share of the good stuff doesnt it !  glad you are doing better now

Good to know you are feeling better.   See my physio again on 2nd June,    only had deep leg massage from her due to fluid which is stopping the straightening...been doing that as best I can at home. Oil is fabulous for the hands. The massage does seen to be working....though I think it make bathroom visits more often.

Well done hope it continues x

300 leg presses!!! Are you sure you don't mean 30!!

I had huge problems with my knee before I had TKR and had had a previous op on it. I had to push to get TKR but the consultant said that once he saw the state of my old knee in theatre it was really bad and definitely needed replacing. So my recovery was a very slow process. Also I had heart problems when younger so could not do strenuous exercise. I did however get there in the end and now 3 years on I am very pleased with the result

Keep pedalling!!

Take care and keep in touch

Well done Terri,  keep up the good work
