I was diagnosed about 18 months ago with RA i am currently on mtx I was on 12.5 but it was reduced as the nausea became quite bad. I now just have the exhaustion to cope with. I get really hot and sweaty and my feet get really hot red and burn. I was tested for thyroid but was told it was borderline. Does anyone else get any of this, or can suggest a remedy.
I get really hot and sweaty also. Don't have the feet burning though. I'm not on methotrexate as it was making me so lightheaded. I'm now on leflunomide.
I thought the hotness and sweating was from the inflammation. It seems worse when I'm hurting. I've only been on the leflunomide for three weeks so it hasn't kicked in yet.
I too would love to know if others have this.
Hi Yvonne
With the methotrexate they can offer injections that way you don't get the nasea. I get hot and sweaty I thought that was age but I have come of methotrexate as my liver function was too high. I am on Sulfasalazine and chloroquine which are not working for me
I believe its part of RA. I have low estrogen level due to another illness and get very bad sweating. But I also think its related to RA to. My feet get burning soles and I soak them in Epsom salts and peppermint oil. It is lovely but only temporary relief. I do find gabapentin helps with sweating tho. Chronic fatique ..... Ugh! I know......
Thanks will try soaking them in Epsom salts. Does anyone take anything for the fatigue that helps.
I slept about 15 hours yesterday and have to take sleep days frequently. I take tamoxifen for breast cancer which causes fatique too so I am sleeping my life away. Thankfully I can't work so I don't have to worry about bosses like I did a few years back. What is that lazy creature called... Sloth? Yes I am turning into a sloth.
