SORRY I been posting so much about colonoscopy but if it’s not one thing is another..Well my colonoscopy was Friday morning and since I been passing so much gas..My stomach is so bloated that someone already asked me if I was pregnant. It’s my lower stomach that is bloated..I feel nauseous most of the time.. Today I woke ul feeling sick like cold symptoms don’t know if that has anything to do with it..Is this normal?
Did you call your GI Doctor with your concerns? Often the nurses in the office can be of help. When I get tgat way, I often take a couple Gas X. Just walking will often help. Try laying on your left side with your knees bent. You have nausea all the time or just since the procedure? I use Tigan, but that is by prescription. Try some ginger and hiney in warm water for the nausea. Hope you feel better. .
Hi Margot49, thank you for replying..Yes I will call them tomorrow to see if there is anything that can help me.. I get nausea sometimes but for the past 2 days I have gotten more nausea than usual.. Today was a little better didn’t feel as bad as the past 2 days..It’s just the bloating and gas. I get usually right aftee eating. I’m also belching a lot..Will have to try your advice.. Thank you so much for taking your time to reply.
Something else I use, that my GI Doctor at Stanford suggested I try because I am sensitive to a lot of meds, is actually an herbal supplement called Ibergast. You can order it on Amazon. The GI community is starting to recognize this now and my local GI Doctor is starting to suggest some if his patients try it. Does not interact with other medications. Of course, might take a while to see if it helps but might be worth a try. I have been off if it for quite a while but have had bloating issues lately so I ordered some more and it is helping. I decided to try this before taking Xifaxin again. Can't hurt to give it a try.
They pump gas into your bowel during the procedure, so gas is normal, hence the bloating. Maybe the nausea is due to the excess gas or a reaction to the sedation drugs you were given. These drugs cause side effects. Go back to your doctor and explain your symptoms if you don’t feel better after a week.
As someone has said, they put gas I your bowel during a colonoscopy and that can become trapped. Try mints peppermint tea or antacids.
The nausea is probably the gas and the fact your system has been messed with. Have a plain diet and small meals. It took a week or so for my symptoms to settle
Thank you, will probably have to order some too..Do you know of any home remedies for Ibs?
Thank you so much Pippa58442 I was getting a little concerned thinking maybe something went wrong.. I’m feeling a lot better still mild bloating and not so much gas anymore..
Thank you sp much leeniepie, I did take some antacids it helped..I will try peppermint tea is thag for gas? My symptoms seem to be settling down a lot more..My stomach is less bloated and gas Is less than before..Im passing it in the evenings or before a bowel movement which that is a normal symptom for me.. I was passing it all day long the past couple days.
