Feeling sick in my throat for a month now, Please help me.

I've been feeling sick for a month and the nausea is only in my throat, I went to the doctors and they said that I had tonsilitis but I completed the course for this. I finished the course about two weeks ago and I still have the spots on my tonsils, What should I do?

Hi kenny52092

You may have a fungal infection and you will need a fungal infection antibiotic.....go back to your doc and ask him to check the spots....if another course of AB's do not fix it perhaps a swab from the spots should be taken to clarify exactly what the spots are......best wishes for a speedy diagnosis

see the Dr again for a checkup.

Yes, back to doc, you need a swab of the white stuff, identifying what it was (fungal or bacterial) and if bacterial which antibiotic will work (antibiogram/sensitivity test of cultured pathologic bacteria.)

Little fun story:

I had once upon a time bacterial tonsillitis, courses of different broad band antibiotics never got rid of it totally, sinusitis as well, real bad thing and feeling for weeks, finally a swab and sensitivity test was done:

it was a bacteria (streptococcus equi), that usually caused tonsilitis in HORSES (my work mate's horse actually had tonsillitis, hence I knew then, that she was respiratory infected by looking after her horse - which snorts at her-, but not sick, infected me by speaking to me and I - horse - got not only infected, but sick. )

The only effective antibiotic was an old one, that usually never helps anymore: sulfonamid. Nobody would have ever prescribed that one without antibiogram.
